Evening sportsfans!! with a lack of any flat action in england i wasn't going to blog this evening but i've found a couple of spare hours so have decided to have a little go at the jumps tomorrow & also see if we can find some value over at leopardstown...
1pt e/w SPARROW HILLS 3.45 WINCANTON (nap) 25/1 bet365
1pt e/w FRENCH TIES 4.40 MARKET RASEN (nb) 7/1 bet365
1pt e/w IDARAH 4.20 WINCANTON s.p.
all three should give a good account of themselves but the nap has had two races here at wincanton..and is unbeaten..25's?? snap it up early folks!! :-)
onto leopardstown & i've targeted three short price lays that i think will get turned over tomorrow.my tactics will be that if all three are beat, call securicor, get two beat, very profitable day,get one beat, depending on which one, slight loss on the day.
THE UNITED STATES 2.35 current price: 7/4
he won on his debut beating dibayani who reopposes here on the same terms but only has a head to find with the o'brien runner.
TUS is a half brother to david wachmans fire lily, all speed.i know the galileo influence will help him stay but he didnt strike me as a miler when i watched the replay to be honest & the stable have reached for the cheekpieces which tells me hes not entirely straight forward in his homework.the halford runner went on to gain valuable experience in two listed contests & might just have a bit to much track craft for his old rival here.
DECLARATION OF WAR 3.05 current price: evens
drops back into listed company after taking a G3 on his final start last year but was getting all the allowances that day.the tables are turned here with him having to carry a group race penalty & having to concede 5lb to recent irish lincoln winner sweet lightening.the key though is tomorrows trip,he was staying on at the end of his 1m2f races last season & i think this mile will be far to sharp for him here & he was beaten on his seasonal appearance last year, over a mile,in a G3,expect more of the same here.
BATTLE OF MARENGO 4.15 current price: 8/13
another o'brien hotpot & yet another that has to carry a penalty now he drops a grade.he won a very weak G2 as a juvenile & is going to pay the price this term i think.hes another by super sire galileo but sooner or later coolmore are going to come unstuck as if they carry on there going to end up with a barn full of galileo sires & a barn full of galileo mares which in breeding terms is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.unless they start branching out into other bloodlines there going to have a serious problem on there hands.they recently purchased most improved who is by lawman so that will help when he goes to stud & also the purchase of excelebration last season gives them the highest rated son of exceed & excel at there disposal.the dansili galileo cross has proved very succesful but i would like to see them going more with the galileo kingmambo cross if i'm honest.back to the race in hand & the bottom horse sugar boy was hugely impressive last time in a listed event, heavily eased & scoring by 6l.the concession of 5lb might just prove beyond the favourite on his seasonal bow as they would leave a bit to work on i would of thought.
bit of a different angle to this evenings blog but if you like what i've written why not give me a retweet!! :-) many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!
regards
