Evening sportsfans!! leafy lingfield sees the a/w bandwagon arrive tomorrow & it looks quite a competitive card to be honest so with a bit of luck we can find a bit of value..

2pts e/w WILFRED PICKLES 1.30 lingfield (nap) 8/1 bet365

absolutely loves it here with a record over C&D of 2-4-1-2-1-4-3-2
and the booking of adam kirby is a massive plus.

1pt e/w ROYS LEGACY 3.30 lingfield (nb) 9/1 bet365

another course specialist with figures of 1-3-1-3 here who looks on a workable mark.

1pt e/w INDIAN AFFAIR 3.00 lingfield (iwac) 12/1 bet365

performed with credit in the early part of the year off higher marks & the booking of richard kingscote catches the eye.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

Evening sportsfans!! so close today without landing a big pot.. the nap just run out of it in the closing stages but landing e/w money @ 14/1 followed by tranquil seas 2nd at 14/1 which seen us with a small profit to advised bets on the day. tomorrow we have a bonus fixture at the beach so i couldn't resist having a look!! hopefully we can find a few winners..

1pt e/w MASTER BOND 3.30 southwell (nap) 7/1 bet365

1pt e/w MISS ELLA JADE 1.55 southwell (nb) 8/1 bet365

1pt e/w MEDITERRANEAN SEA southwell (iwac) 7/1 bet365

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

tomorrow also sees possibly the most fascinating hurdle of the season so far over in ireland & thats saying something following the clash over christmas of the new one & my tent or yours!! it sees current champion hurricane fly take on young pretenders our conor & jezki in what looks a mouth watering prospect. of the 3 i would probably be against our conor tomorrow as i dont like 4yo's against older horses at this time of year & wether you're a fan of the fly or not his record is imperious. only ever beaten at championship level & a record haul of G1's to his name i think in hindsight after the race odds against may well look an absolute gift & i think my play well be to lay our conor 2pts & back the fly to 1pt so if jezki pops up i'm still in the pound seat but it is a great race in prospect of that there is no doubt.

27/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well it was a very merry christmas for followers today with the nap romping in by 9 lengths advised at a tasty 6/1 last night & hopefully we can finish the year with a flourish. many thanks to those that have responded to the #teamnaps FA cup idea & if you scroll down past the selections you will find more details of this.

1pt e/w PALACE MOON 2.10 lingfield (nap) 14/1 bet365

a now very well handicapped horse & the booking of super jim crowley looks to be the final piece in the jigsaw as he has two wins on board from three rides so clearly knows how to get a tune out of him.

1pt e/w VINTAGE STAR 2.35 chepstow (nb) 14/1 bet365

the agendas clear for this lad.. a thorough test of stamina in bottomless ground & thats exactly what he'll get here. the presence of tidal bay at the top of the handicap on 163 means half the field have to race from out of the handicap & he can take advantage of the favourable conditions here.

1pt e/w TRANQUIL SEA 3.10 chepstow (iwac) 14/1 william hill

had some very smart form over in ireland & the switch to warren greatrix could well have freshened him up & this will be his easiest task for a long time.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

#TEAMNAPS FA CUP COMPETITION
--------------------------------------------------

many thanks to those that have registered an interest so far & i think ive found a format that we can use. we will run it alongside the live channel 4 races shown on a saturday so selections must come from those races. the draw will take place with a home & away side having to supply 3 selections a piece on the live races but whoever is drawn at home will have the advantage of picking first & will be scored as follows..

selection places: 1pt
selection wins: 2pts
selection wins at odds of 5/1 or above: 3pts

so the most "goals" you can score in any game is 9 (3 winners above 5/1) or you could get a big fat zero with 3 unplaced selections in which case the opponent will only need one placed selection to sneak a 1-0 victory.. (hope you are all following this!lol) selections must be supplied by friday evening & in the event of a tie in true cup format there will then be replay with the away side then reverting to home territory on the following tuesday. once all results are finalised on tuesday the draw will take place on wednesday & the ties will be tweeted out wednesday evening with the games taking place on a saturday & so on as we progress through the rounds. however when we reach the semi final stage ties will then revert to "neutral grounds" so no one will have home advantage so if two selections are the same the selection is void & players must re-select. the competition is open to all so all you have to do is tweet me @ianmallard with the hashtag #teamnaps #facup & i will add you to the draw. any questions you may have please do not hesitate to ask.

Evening sportsfans!! no blog today as whilst there was some quality racing today with the cracking G1 action at kempton from a betting point of view it wasn't great in all fairness. tomorrow is in a different league value wise so we'll see if we can snaffle some! two extra features on this evenings blog include the xmas top ten from the #stealingaliving league with all your favourites from throughout the year & also those of you that where members of the old #teamnaps league i am going to try & bring it back but in a cup format. the names will be put into a hat & drawn out with a home and away team. the person drawn at home will get priority with there selections supplying 3 per "game" & it will be done on a points scoring basis from the 3 selections. i'm not sure of the exact format yet but anyone thats interested in the "tipping FA cup" please send me a tweet @ianmallard with the hashtag #teamnaps #facup & once i have an idea of numbers i can start to put a format together & hopefully get a bookmaker to sponsor it with a prize of a free bet. onto tomorrows selections..

17/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not bad racing tomorrow for a wednesday if i'm really honest with polytrack fixtures at both kempton & lingfield to get stuck into & hopefully i've found a bit of value to kick start the month..

1pt e/w BELLE BAYARDO 12.00 lingfield (nap) 12/1 bet365

with the booking of luke morris tomorrow it looks all systems go for ron harris' charge.he is very handily weighted on his best form but has still run very creditabley off higher marks recently & must go close here.

1pt e/w SHAFAANI 2.00 lingfield (nb) 20/1 bet victor

yes this is a big step up in class from her previous run but she kept quite esteemed company prior to that. shes 2/3 on polytrack & was only beaten on the surface when upped to listed class back in march behind the very progressive botti horse teophilip. however that day she was a nose behind john gosdens hoarding who has since come out & won a listed contest and a half a length behind her was another botti horse hasopop who went on to be placed in pattern company as well as taking a newmarket handicap off a mark of 100. this little lady goes here off 92 & could actually be chucked in to be honest. she has a cracking draw in two & runs well when fresh & looks an absolute gift at the prices.

1pt e/w SCOTTISH STAR 3.10 lingfield (iwac) 9/1 bet365

has been running well with credit for quite a while now but just hasn't been getting the rub of the green. young louis steward can ride & is well worth his 7lb claim & that could well turn out to be the difference here.

15/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not a bad day on the last blog finding NB yasir @ a tasty 15/2 to put us into profit on the day but nothing to go with it which would of been nice but after a stop start month i'll settle for a 15/2 winner a day!lol as its sunday its the #stealingaliving top 10 so simply scroll down past tomorrows selections to see if any of you're favourites have made this weeks list & next week sees the inaugural introduction of the #stealingaliving league xmas number one with all this years favourites in the running for the coveted title!! onto tomorrow & its not the greatest fayre on offer but its monday & hopefully will improve as the week goes on...

1pt e/w FAME AGAIN 5.10 wolves (nap) 6/1 bet victor

a previous nap that reared in the stalls that day & lost all chance but in the plum draw in one there should be no excuses tomorrow & hopefully we can recoup. hes a pound lower than his last winning mark & as long as he breaks on level terms he can grab the rail & make all.

1pt e/w TEIDE PEAK 1.55 wolves (nb) 20/1 bet365

last years winner comes here on a 2lb higher mark but should still be able to get involved at the business end of this. he has won off a pound higher in the meantime & looks perfectly at home in these amateur races & at least his jockey can ride, which is a massive plus at this level.

0.5pt e/w double

now onto this weeks #stealingaliving top 10!!

10. jack wilshere (does what he wants)
lay off the fags & lifestyle jack or the only way will be south..

9. aston villas defence (more holes than swiss cheese)
think the villas defenders got an early mark for xmas as none of them seemed to turn up today..

8. roberto di matteo (turncoat)
the grass isn't always greener on the other side is it now robbie?

7. ashley young (talent show winner)
seriously did this guy win a reality show where the prize was to become a man utd & england footballer??

6. joe hart (our favourite shampoo salesman)'
still warming that bench joe, got a run out against bayern but the all important premier league games are yet to be trusted to teflon..

5. matt dawson (still in saurez' pocket)
you can come out now matt..

4. martin jol (unemployed)
another manager who is happily on the manager-go-round that seems to allow them to walk into any vacancy..these people where sacked for a reason FFS!!!!

3. bet365 odds compilers (chancing guessers)
pick a number.. any number.. times it by two.. multiply by three.. divide by ten & that will do for the first show..

2. mark hughes (stoke city manager)
god his teams are boring..had the misfortune to watch the 0-0 thriller versus hull..

1. DJ campbell (disgrace to football)
25k a week..yet still as bent as a nine bob note. shocking & should never play the game again..

tune in next week to see who the #stealingaliving xmas number 1 is!

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & if you like what you've read why not give it a R/T to you're followers! :-)

12/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well hopefully we at least get a run for our money as our last blog was wiped out by the fog unfortunately. tomorrow sees the return of my favourite beach southwell so its deck chairs out & sunglasses at the ready folks!! :-)

1pt e/w DOCOFTHEBAY 2.00 southwell (nap) 8/1 bet365

as always course form is imperitive here & with stats of 1-2-1-2 from his four starts here shows how much he loves it. hes very well treated on todays terms & is now 9lb lower than when running the fibresand legend dubai hills close back in march but to be honest that was by no means a disgrace after that horse came out & won on the track yet again & looks not far off unbeatable over the C&D so it was a fair effort.

1pt e/w YASIR 2.30 southwell (nb) 15/2 bet365

former godolphin inmate who should absolutely love this surface being by dynaformer & he seems to have dropped to a workable mark now. he has had one spin round here without success but that was in a very strong race for the track & i'm happy to forgive him that run & take a chance that he could well be a bit better than this.

1pt e/w YOUR GIFTED 3.05 southwell (iwac) 14/1 bet365

another one that has a cracking record at the track all be it quite a while ago & hopefully the return to fibresand can spring a return to form & the booking of shirley teasdale catches my eye i must admit. a course record of 4-1-2-2-2-2 makes for good reading & she wasn't disgraced last time out at wolves. december may well be her month with a win & two places from three starts at this time of year in her career so far.

10/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! load of crap today, plain & simple! winner needed with severe emergency! lets see if tomorrow can see a return to form..

1pt e/w IF I WHERE A BOY 3.00 lingfield (nap) 12/1 paddy power

previous C&D winner who has slipped to a winning mark.she was running with credit earlier this year before being switched to turf & the return to polytrack looks favourable along with the re-application of blinkers can see her back in the winners enclosure.

1pt e/w TAROOQ 2.30 lingfield (nb) 12/1 skybet

hes one of these horses thats far better on an artificial surface than turf which can make it very difficult to gauge its form but he wasn't far off listed class on the polytrack when with the williams stable to be honest. has already had a start for the barron team so they will know the time of day with him now with a bit of luck & he should be in the mix at the business end of affairs.

1pt e/w MAFI 3.30 lingfield (iwac) 14/1 bet365

these apprentice races usually revolve around the best jockeys in the race to be honest & young jordan vaughan at least knows how to ride a winner which is a bonus at this level i can assure you. the horse has slipped to a winning mark & has only once ran in the past on the back of a 100+ day break when making a winning debut for this stable so the break may well be a positive as opposed to a negative & hopefully the lad vaughan can get the job done.

9/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! the nap a n/r today i'm afraid & the nb nabbed second to land some place money & just about break even on the day but certainly nothing to get excited about, hopefully tomorrow can see us find a few winners..

1pt e/w SILKEN EXPRESS 2.00 southwell (nap) 13/2 bet365

robert cowells filly has a very progressive profile & following a debut second at the track she went one better on her second visit taking a C&D handicap beating demora who has since won a handicap off 92 on the turf giving the form a solid look. on only her ninth racecourse start she should have more to come & can take this on the way to better things.

1pt e/w PRINCE OF PASSION 3.30 (nb) 7/1 bet365

is on a winning mark & is a standing dish in C6 events round here & it might just be his day that the pendulum swings in his favour.

1pt e/w MATAAJIR 2.30 (iwac) 6/1 bet365

another one of david shaws fibresand stalwarts who is on a winning mark & this is a very weak race in all fairness which shouldn't take alot of winning.

8/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! bit of a damp squid saturday turned into in all fairness. not a winner in sight & we need to get some scores on the board a bit sharpish this month. hopefully i've found a bit of value & as always as its sunday the #stealingaliving league is back so scroll down & see if any of your favourites have made an appearance!!

1pt e/w BELLE BAYARDO 3.30 lingfield (nap) 16/1 paddy power

ran with credit in the early part of the year off marks higher than this & has now fallen 3lb below his last winning mark. this is now a career low mark hes fallen to & luke morris knows him well & also rode him to his last victory & looks cracking value here although i will admit the draw could of been kinder but with little pace in the field he could quite easily get on the front end here where he likes to be.

1pt e/w ONE SCOOP OR TWO 5.10 wolves (nb) 7/1 ladbrokes

previous C&D winner who has 3 wins & 9 places at the track on his c.v. absolutely loves it here at dunstall park, is on a winning mark, he'll do for us!

1pt e/w DORBACK 3.40 wolves (iwac) 25/1 william hill

this is another that the draw could of been kinder to but martin harley is more than capable of getting a good position early on. he now drops into a C5 for the first time since his last win & the drop back to 5f is just the job as i dont think he gets a yard further & he now looks to be on a mark he can be competitive off.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

now onto this weeks #stealingaliving top 10!!!

10. gary neville (neville nevilles son)
more repetitive than vindaloo...

9. joe hart (shampoo salesman)
still warming the man.city bench on god knows how much money..

8. michael owen (little person)
BT sports answer to... (answers on a postcard please!)

7. robin van persie (grecian 2000's best advert)
RVP really didn't look like he wanted to be involved in that debacle at old trafford..

6. the easter bunny (funny looking fella with big ears)
easters a way off so bunnys having some winter sun before the egg season kicks in!! (random i know!lol)

5. garth crooks (mr must have the last word)
dont like him..

4. chelsea strikers (brothel,score,couldnt,in,a,)
you work it out...

3. robert cooper (atr fool with a microphone)
ATR's roving reporter bob reports he cant see anyone at the track to interview..just as the whole of the skelton family walk past & he didnt even recognise one of them!! genius robert..pure genius my son!

2. akpo sodje (rat)
no place for the likes of him in ours or any league..hope the man never plays football again & only the collapse of david moyes has kept him off the top spot.

1. david moyes (man utd caretaker manager)
back to back home defeats for the first time in over 10 years.. you've excelled yourself this week dave!!!

*please be aware that the #stealingaliving league is just a harmless bit of fun meant to brighten up your sunday evening & no offence is intended to anybody*

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & if you like what you've read please give me a R/T! :-)

6/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! slight change to the normal tomorrow blog wise as i've decided to preview a few races on terrestial t.v. for followers, here are my thoughts..

1.50 sandown 2m Henry VIII novices chase (Grade 1)

what a race to kick of proceedings & probably not far off the best novice chase run upto now this season. hinterland took the scalp of grandouet last time out & to be honest the henderson horse really didn't look a natural chaser to me, in fact far from it & i'm not sure would of won even if he had of stayed on his feet so i'll happily bypass him. balder success also falls into a grey area for me jumping wise & if you hit any of those railway fences at full pelt you can lose an awful lot of momentum here. the horse i'm going for is tony mccoy's mount TAQUIN DU SEUIL who has made a cracking start to his career over the bigger obstacles & showed real battling qualities to outpoint smart hurdler oscar whiskey last time out & hes plenty speedy enough to cope with the drop back to 2m. after only six lifetime starts over timber he looks open to any amount of improvement & i think you will certainly see him at the festival come march.

2.05 aintree 3m 2f Becher handicap chase (Grade 3)

alot of the usual suspects make an appearance here with alan kings walk on a likely one following his 2nd to triolo D'alene in the topham in april. following that horses recent success off a 15lb higher mark in the hennessy he could well play a part here but the one i'm going to side with is last years runner up JOIN TOGETHER. hes had a run to blow the cobwebs away this season & comes here on a 2lb lower mark. hes not as exposed as others in this field & looks a value e/w play here.

3.00 sandown 2m Tingle Creek chase (Grade 1)

the absence of sprinter sacre is a blow for the sponsors as racings superstar chaser was due to make his seasonal re-appearance here but at least it gives another horse the chance to pick up a 2m G1 this year!! new kid on the block sire de grugy puts his champion chase credentials to the test but to be honest if hes a 169 rated chaser then book me a ticket on the hogwartz express because i'd find that more believeable! enigmatic mad moose will add a bit of interest down at the start if nothing else & they try a hood tomorrow to see if that gets him in the mood which is a real shame as he does clearly have some ability but i've a feeling nigels belt might be waving like a windmill down at the start. kauto stone could be interesting back at the minimum trip but he hasn't shown anything for a while & he could have fallen out with the game. captain conan took the novice chase on this card last year & racked up three G1 victories in an impressive first season over the larger obstacles but mick channons SOMERSBY is a very strong fancy here. hes had a very stop start career but was very smart as a novice when with henrietta knight & also isn't to keen on the mud but on decent ground this fellas a decent tool i can assure you. he beat module & cue card on his re-appearance which whilst i acknowledge he was in reciept of lumps of weight & it was cue cards seasonal debut but he really got stuck in that day & showed a very willing attitude which is nice to see in any horse & i think he'll just have a bit to much class for these although i expect captain conan to give him most to do.

3.35 sandown 3m 5f London National handicap chase

this could well turn into a war of attrition & choc thornton comes here to ride godsmejudge rather than go to aintree to ride the alan king horses there & last years scottish national winner has strong claims after showing up for a long way on his re-appearance behind alvarado at cheltenham three weeks ago & the run will have done him the world of good. paul nicholls has his string in rude health at the minute & his theres no panic is another that would be in with a shout but the horse i've plumped for is the bottom weight FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT. now hes as slow as a boat but he just keeps galloping & that might well be enough to win this up the stiff sandown hill. hes been steadily progressive throughout his career so far & this is by far his toughest assignement but he finished behind fine parchment on his last run who has come out today & franked the form with another victory & with kieron edgars 7lb claim he will be carrying a featherweight here. i remember watching him at my local track leicester earlier this year & all he did was stay, nothing else, no change of gear, just stayed & that may well be enough here.

advised bets:

4/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not a flying start to the month blogwise with only burnhope landing some place money from our previous post but hopefully now i've cleared a few things up i will be able to post daily again. those of you that wish to follow my selections when i don't have time to write a blog can find them at niallers123.wordpress.com where i post daily selections. onto tomorrow & i'm happy to stay on the a/w for the time being so hopefully we can find a few winners at wolves. theres a few sections that i would like to add to the blog including a daily lays section which i used to do but again its time restrictions so watch this space for updates!! :-)

1pt e/w MOORHOUSE LAD 6.20 wolves (nap) 13/2 bet365

not the strongest ever C4 race ever run & he showed alot more on his last run on the fibresand at southwell when a close up 3rd behind tom sawyer. his style of running is blast & go so with a peach of a draw in one he should be able to rocket out & make all here under decent 3lb claimer billy cray.

1pt e/w LORD BUFFHEAD 7.20 wolves (nb) 12/1 bet365

multiple C&D winner off marks in the low 50's & he looks like hes dropped to somewhere he can be competitive off again.

1pt e/w LUCKY MARK 6.50 wolves (iwac) 12/1 bet365

well if billy cray has a good day tomorrow then so will we!! if he can land this treble then they'll certainly be a xmas drink on the way to the lad & it really isn't beyond the realms of reality as he slips 4lb below his last winning mark & being another that likes to race prominently he has the plum draw in one so lets hope billys on the ball tomorrow!!

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & good luck if you follow the selections.

1/12/2013

Evening sportsfans!! only selective blogging last month owing to time restraints & also i tend now to only write a blog when i really fancy a few to be honest. we did finish up on +30pts to our advised blogged bets in november so maybe the tactic was worthwhile!! :-)

onto tomorrows thoughts..

1pt e/w BOWSTAR  5.20 kempton (nap) 12/1 bet365

alot of the usual suspects are out at kempton & wolves tomorrow & whilst its low grade it is quite competetive in all fairness. mike attwaters filly has made a bright start to her career but seemed to be found out by the step up in class on her last run. the drop back into C4 & the re-application of the cheekpieces can see her back on track here.

1pt e/w BURNHOPE 5.50 kempton (nb) 14/1 ladbrokes

scott dixons charge is very well handicapped on his form at the start of the year & is now 2lb lower than when winning alot better contest than this over C&D in january. the jockey booking does concern me i must admit but to be fair to the lad he can actually ride & has had a bit of experience so i think hes worth taking a chance on here.

1pt e/w HAVING A BALL 2.20 kempton (iwac) 12/1 bet365

C&D winner who falls onto his last winning mark & this race really wont take alot of winning to be fair.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

now onto this weeks #stealingaliving top 10 & we have a new member of the hall of fame this evening as sir harry herbert makes his 10th appearance!! he joins #stealingaliving royalty rishi persad in a very select club which i've no doubt will have many more members to come!! :-)

10. michael owen (the saviour of BT sport)

9. tom cleverley (funky chicken in disguise)
dear lord this lads bank manager must have a monthly chuckle to himself when his salary goes in..

8. victor moses (poor excuse for a footballer at the minute)

7. nicklas bendtner (arsenal striker)
arrested for criminal damage this week..add #stealingaliving to his charge sheet whilst your there officer..

6. hurricane fly (soon to be dethroned champ)

3. timmy murphy (lunatic jockey)

2. sir rishi persad (#stealingaliving royalty)
well it just wouldn't be sunday without rishi on here now would it!

1. sir harry herbert (racing manager extraordinaire)
if we thought old sherbet dip had the cushiest job in racing we where so wrong! hes now trumped everyone by landing the job of "racing manager" to sheikh joann's mob..you have to doff your cap to the man in all fairness as not only does he now have all the mugs at his highclere syndicates money to play with he now has an instant outlet to cash in anything half decent! nothing more than genius from the boy herbert & on his tenth appearance we welcome him into our hall of fame..arise sir harry...you are officially #stealinghaliving my friend!!

**disclaimer**

dear hurricane fly fans please be aware that the #stealingaliving league is just a harmless bit of fun aimed at brightening up your sunday evening before you all start attacking me in your thousands!!

22/11/2013

Evening sportsfans!! an excellent month so far blog wise showing a healthy +37pts to advised bets. hopefully tomorrow can carry on the good work..

2pts e/w MAC AEDA 3.35 haydock (nap) 7/1 boylesports

a nap on the blog last time out when he made his seasonal re-appearance when running well to land us some place money but in all fairness he blew up a bit slightly in the later stages that day & that should have put him spot on for this. the handicapper has left him alone so he remains on a winning mark so we'll stick with him to bring home the money here.

1pt e/w TIDAL BAY 3.00 haydock (nb) 8/1 bet365

this renewal of the betfair chase is an absolute cracker with a whole host of stars making an appearance which boasts two gold cup winners to name a few. plenty of the big guns are making there seasonal appearance & it really would be a good day to be paddockside to be honest. bobsworth is a worthy favourite with his record left handed there for all to see but silviniaco conti i have my doubts about to be honest, personally i think he was beat when coming down in the gold cup & then was turned over at aintree in what was a pretty weak race for the grade to be honest so he'll get the old spanish archer but even though hes now rising 13 years of age the tidal bay show just keeps on rolling! in the last year the only horse to beat him was bobsworth in the hennessy but the bay was trying to give him 6lb that day so off levels tomorrow he must have every chance of reversing the form with the gold cup winner & looks the value play here.

1pt e/w RESTLESS HARRY 2.25 haydock 33/1 skybet

a dual grade 2 winner in the past robert dickins 9yo didn't really take to chasing to be honest & whilst hes had a couple of spins the last twice over the smaller obstacles you can ignore them because he needs it like a gluepot to be at his best & i think the going at haydock tomorrow will be alot softer than people think if todays times are anything to go by & a bit of overnight rain wouldn't go a miss either. it is a speculative selection but off a mark of 128 hes hard to ignore if he can still remember how to put one hoof in front of the other.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

theres a few that i like on the a/w at lingfield tomorrow so we'll have a small pop at an e/w yankee there..

Evening sportsfans!! a cracking card at cheltenham tomorrow & the jumps season is well & truly underway. some tricky handicaps i must admit but hopefully we've found a bit of value..

1pt e/w NADIYA DE LA VEGA 2.30 cheltenham (nap) 12/1 b.v.

a cracking contest this with some very classy types at the head of the handicap who have been plying there trade in graded contests so to give lumps of weight away in a handicap is going to be difficult. however lurking right at the bottom of the weights is the nicky henderson mare nadiya de la vega. she ran a gallant race last year behind al ferof & comes here on a 5lb lower mark but more importantly she had already made a winning debut last year when coming here & she is a different proposition when fresh as her record after a 60+ day break reads..1-1-1 !! the ground should be spot on for her & i'm expecting a big run here.

1pt e/w ALVARADO 1.50 cheltenham (nb) 12/1 bet victor

has had a pipe opener this season & to be honest i dont think this will be the strongest G3 handicap ran at prestbury park this year. burton port heads the weight off a mark of 158 giving the handicap a slightly lob sided look to it & i'd be surprised if he can get involved in this off that mark as its 6lb higher than when he was placed in the hennessy but that was in 2010 & you'd have to think hes regressed with age. last years winner monbeg dude is now racing off a 18lb higher mark so hes bypassed & if im honest i can make an excuse for almost everything in the field but alvarado could quite easily lob round behind them & gradually pick them off one by one with a  bit of luck.

10/11/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not alot to shout about yesterday to be fair, the nap managed to dead heat for a place to pull a bit back but apart from that the day was disappointing. hopefully we can get back to winning ways tomorrow.

1pt e/w ABIGAILS ANGEL 3.20 kempton (nap) 16/1 ladbrokes

the return to polytrack can work the oracle after a couple of runs on the turf that should hopefully have put her spot on for this. she comes here on a winning mark & also has a cracking draw to hopefully get out & bag the rail and lead them home.

1pt e/w PALOMAS PRINCE 5.20 kempton (nb) 20/1 ladbrokes

hopefully the return to polytrack can work for this lad as well & he could be very well treated here. his season seems to have come off the rails slightly & he does seem to be the "win or tailed off" type but he could well be worth a punt here at a decent price.

0.5pt e/w double

now onto this weeks #stealingaliving top 10 and we have our first member of the hall of fame!!! take a bow rishi persad.. you are officially useless & after making the top 10 for the tenth time your our first "hall of fame" member!! following last weeks top 10 readers will be pleased to hear that the now legendary cleaner janet has resurfaced & is very much alive! a heavy night & one to many malibu & cokes is the official statement!

9. dumb & dumber (RUK presenters)

8. mick fitzgerald (full time chancer)
betting advice of "you cant go wrong with this trainer" isn't always very helpful.. :-/

7. joe hart (likes shampoo & warm benches)
if you spent more time holding a football rather than lathering yourself up maybe your career wouldn't be spiralling southwards faster than hurricane dorothy young man.

6. claire balding (fanny lover)
how long was her C4 contract.. 3 weeks!?!? still unsighted from the shows afternoon coverage but is now popping up on some advert about business cards!!

8/11/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well who'd of thought it!?!?! 36pts profit to advised bets on this months blog & we are also defending a 100% record with our naps following wins @ 6/1 & 7/1 for our selections! hopefully the good run can continue..

1pt e/w TARTIFLETTE 1.50 doncaster (nap) 14/1 paddy power

last years winner comes here just a pound higher than that win but shes a filly that comes to herself at this time of year & is unbeaten in the month of november. she has some seriously smart form as a 3yo most notably when chasing home the likes of gregorian & fire ship which where both on an easy surface so tomorrows ground should hold no fears for her & hopefully she can keep up our 100% nap strike rate this month.

1pt e/w FORGOTTEN HERO 3.35 doncaster (nb) 14/1 bet365

this son of high chaparral showed last time that the longer trip of 12f was just what he required & after just 12 lifetime starts there looks like there could be plenty more to come from him at the trip. he does have a 6lb rise in the weights to contend with in what is traditionally a very hot handicap but he had looked a touch one paced on his previous outings so with natural progression he can get involved in this at the business end of things.

1pt e/w ETON RIFLES 2.25 doncaster 6/1 bet victor (iwac)

hes another that scored on last years card & this race looks no harder to be honest, he relishes some give underfoot & has been a revelation for the williams yard since they switched him to sprint trips last season & another decent pot looks there for the taking here.

Evening sportsfans!! well what a return the blog made on monday!! 12/1 & 6/1 winners to go with an 8/1 place giving us a 30pt gain to advised bets on the day! hopefully the return to form can continue tomorrow.. :-)

1pt e/w BILLY RED 2.20 lingfield (nap) 7/1 ladbrokes

dual C&D winner who has now slipped 5lb below his last winning mark. is always best when ridden from the front & the return to the saddle of joe fanning is a massive plus here.

1pt e/w WAVERUNNER 3.20 lingfield (nb) 10/1 ladbrokes

this daughter of ravens pass was quite progressive earlier in the year at this trip but i'm not sure shes appreciated the extra distance on her starts since joining mark johnston. a few poor runs have resulted in a bit of respite from the handicapper though & this is also a welcome drop in grade for her.

0.5pt e/w double

3/11/2013

Evening sportsfans!!! well its certainly good to be back after a quite couple of weeks for me. october is a perilous time of year for punting & i've had one succesful october in the time i've been keeping records. i class myself as a semi-intelligent man so it wasn't rocket science that after looking at my form in october over the years that i should take a step back & let things settle down a bit form wise with the cross over from the turf flat season to the jumps. hopefully the short break will have me freshened up ready for the a/w & NH seasons ahead. on to tomorrow & here are my thoughts..

1pt e/w DARK LANE 2.50 wolves (nap) 6/1 bet365

last years winner comes here on the same mark & with adam kirby taking back over the reigns he looks like hes ready for action. hes ultra consistent on the polytrack & his record on the surface in C6 events reads.. 1-4-3-3-1-3-1-1-2-2-5-1-1-3-3 and we'll take him to see if he can get the day off to a flyer.

1pt e/w OUTLAW TORN 4.55 wolves (nb) 8/1 bet365

course specialist who has twice dropped to this winning mark in the past & obliged. he ran well behind the progressive landau last time out in alot stronger race than this & the drop back into C6 company can work the oracle tomorrow.

1pt e/w HAADEETH 2.15 wolves 12/1 bet365

another david evans horse that adam kirby replaces an apprentice on whos handily slipped 3lb below his last winning mark & if he breaks well he'll make these all go & theres no one better on a front runner than kirby round wolves.

1pt e/w JOHNNY CAVAGIN 3.55 wolves 8/1 bet365

robert winstons 3/6 on this gelding & he seems to be the "go to guy" when hes trying. hes slipped to a winning mark & looks the best treated in what isn't the strongest race for the class that you'll ever see here at dunstall park.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

the #stealingaliving league makes its long awaited re-appearance this week with a whole host of cowboys in our sights!!

10. simon mapletoft (racing uk presenter)
all round fool who was one of the first to tweet that if the fugue & magician had swopped jockeys then it would of been a different result..WELL THEY DIDN'T SWOP DID THEY! get over it & move on fugue backers!! (and yes i did lay it!) ;-)

9. jason weaver (atr pundit)
very small man whos idea of research is a scan of the racecard whilst having a shit.

8. joke kinnear (not really sure what he does to be honest)
but whatever it is he does it very badly!! he told us to judge him on his signings.. fair enough.. YOUR SHIT!

7. joe hart (man city reserve goalkeeper)
oh dear joe..oh dear..

6. choc thornton (NH jockey)
strangely seems to spend far more time rolling round the turf rather than riding horses.. :-/

5. claire balding (rug muncher)
i was under the impression the girl balding was recruited by C4 to front there coverage..yet shes rarely seen!?! nice work if you can get it love!

4. david moyes (man utd interim manager)
seems fergie was more of a genius than people gave him credit for..replace yourself with a fool & make you look amazing!

3. steve bruce (cock)
wish he'd just shut about being harshly treated by sunderland when he was there.. YOU WERE SHIT! get over it & move on man..

2. rishi persad (where do we begin!)
took control of the morning line & fronted the main C4 show with nick luck over in america.. organised chaos springs to mind!!

1. MY CLEANER!! (yes..my cleaner)
now i know you read this janet & your no show this morning is unacceptable & the fact that your phone has been off all day tells me you where severely hungover love... your in the last chance saloon now dear, sort your shit out!!!!!!

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & i hope you found it enjoyable.

Evening sportsfans!! its champions day at ascot tomorrow & we have a full preview of all the group races on the card which promises to be a belting days racing!!

1.45 Qipco british champions long distance cup 2m Group 3

the stayers get the ball rolling headed at the front of the market by the royal runner estimate who has obvious chances after winning the gold cup on her last start. she beat simenon a neck that day but the godolphin horse ahzeemah beat the same rival a head in the lonsdale cup off level weights. at ascot simenon gave estimate 5lbs where as tomorrow ahzeemah only has to give her 3lbs so i think the godolphin horse has to be the value e/w play here. hes two from three here at ascot & has done nothing but improve since stepped up in trip & there could well still be plenty more to come from the progressive 4yo.

selection: AHZEEMAH e/w 8/1 bet365

2.20 Qipco british champions sprint 6f Group 2

i'm not so sure this is a vintage renewal to be honest & last years winner maarek has obvious claims after coming back to form over shorter trips recently but he needs a real strong pace to run at & i don't think he'll get that here but the problem is the rest are bordering on top handicappers & pattern race performers without being any outstanding performers amongst them although the 3yo viztoria is still unexposed & could run well. i think i'll take a chance with hawkeyethenoo though who was second here last year & has some decent placed form at the top level & he won't mind some give underfoot either. not a strong selection by any means but he will out run his price thats for sure.

selection: HAWKEYETHENOO e/w 14/1 skybet

2.55 Qipco british champions fillies & mares 1m 4f Group 1

the group one action kicks off with the ladies taking centre stage but its another race that i think has seen classier renewals if i'm really honest. oaks winner talent is the class act who ran a blinder when second in the leger & seems very happy on a soft surface so has to be respected & she holds the lark on there running at epsom. hot snap looked a superstar when winning the nell gwynn in striking fashion back in april but things haven't quite fell for her since & the jury's still out on her. waila was turned over at royal ascot but got back on track in no uncertain terms when dropped in grade to take a listed contest with minimal fuss but that was a poor race & she'll need to step up a bit to win this. the one i like however is the german raider nymphea. she was very unlucky when last raiding the uk but the form is solid with the third placed filly coming out since & winning the group 1 pretty polly stakes over at the curragh whilst she was taken back to germany to record a G1 success at hoppegarten. her action looks like she'll be far better suited with some give & her pedigree suggests she'll improve with time & looks a solid e/w play here.

selection: NYMPHEA e/w 12/1 corals

3.30 Queen elizabeth II stakes 1m Group 1 (Qipco british champions mile)

the group ones come thick & fast here and this looks like the race of the day to me. the 3yo's are headed by guineas winner dawn approach but he looked a tired horse last time out to me over in france & they might have gone to well once to often with him now. maxios looks like heading the older generation up but on his only venture to the uk he was slammed by al kazeem in the prince of wales stakes & whilst i accept that was on quick ground he looks far more at home on french soil at the minute. a few good judges whos opinion i respect have given top notch tonto a shout but i just can't see it if i'm really honest. soft falling rain & elusive kate can enter calculations on there best form but kingsbarns your guess is as good as mine after his re-appearance went pear shaped but if he gets involved here it will be the training performance of the decade by aiden o'brien. the horse we'll plump for though is the richard hannon trained olympic glory purely for the fact that everytime i look at his form his short head second behind moonlight cloud at deauville sticks out a mile & with intello & declaration of war in behind that is pretty much the best form on offer here. the first time blinkers are an unknown but connections are shrewd enough to know what there doing & whilst he has ground to make up on maxios on there run last time out theres no gaurantee the french raider will reproduce that run on foreign soil.

selection: OLYMPIC GLORY e/w 5/1 stan james

4.05 Qipco champion stakes 1m 2f Group 1

this race revolves around wether cirrus des aigles still has the ability he showed when running frankel to less than 2l in this race last year. on that line of form farhh can't beat him but this is a year later..cirrus' legs are a year older & hes needed to have his sights lowered this year in order to get on the scoresheet. whilst i wouldn't want to lay him as his record on a soft surface is immense i think i may have a decent e/w bet on morandi in this. hes ran in some decent races this year & his second behind intello in the french derby is pretty decent form following that rivals cracking run in the arc. he'll love the conditions & is still very much unexposed & his younger legs might just give him the edge here.

selection: MORANDI e/w 16/1 skybet

an e/w lucky 31 would be nice..

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

16/10/2013

Evening sportsfans!! the normal beginning of the week low grade if competitive stuff knocking around so hopefully we can find a few winners lurking around...

2pts e/w WHITECREST 5.10 brighton (nap) 7/1 bet365

comes here a pound below his last winning mark over C&D in alot better race than this. his course record of 2-2-2-1-2 speaks for itself & the the more rain that falls the better for him.

1pt e/w CHASIN RAINBOWS 3.40 brighton (nb) 7/1 bet365

another that won't mind the rain & whilst hes 3lb above his last turf winning mark he has won off this mark on the a/w.

1pt e/w HAMIS AL BIN 4.40 brighton 8/1 skybet

this is a very poor race that really won't take alot of winning & now hes fallen to a winning mark over C&D he should be thereabouts at the finish.

Evening sportsfans!! competitive stuff on offer tomorrow to be fair & its not the worse days racing you'll ever see on a monday. all we need to do is find a couple of winners & it should be a good day!!

2pts e/w ALEJANDRO 4.50 musselburgh (nap) 12/1 bet365

from four visits here hes returned two wins & two places and the form of his run behind magic city has since been boosted but its his last win that interests me, in behind that day where the likes of laffan & silver rime (both come out & won) along with frog hollow & rasaman who have also placed in competitive races since. he clearly loves it here & whilst he likes to get on with things theres an awful lot of pace on by the looks of things so hopefully he'll let them get on with it & get a nice toe in as i wouldn't want to be in a speed duel early on to be honest.

1pt e/w THE NIFTY FOX 4.20 musselburgh (nb) 16/1 paddypower

has fallen to his last winning mark which was in a better race than this to be honest & he certainly won't mind any rain.

1pt e/w DISTANT SUN 2.10 musselburgh 25/1 bet365

C&D scorer who now looks very well handicapped having fallen 7lb below his last winning mark. didn't stay the 6f last time out but did show a bit more on his penultimate start when a running on 2l fifth behind pull the pin & the booking of david bergin is interesting as i think he could have rode a few in this race.

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

Evening sportsfans!! a cracking days racing to go at tomorrow to be fair with plenty of pattern race action at newmarket along with the cesarewitch & some quality handicaps at york. it is however a perilous time of year punting wise with the coming to an end of one season & the beginning of another but we'll see if we can find a few winners..

1pt e/w TIGER CLIFF 3.50 newmarket (nap) 8/1 bet365

1pt e/w FIRST MOHICAN 2.20 york (nb) 7/1 betfred

9/10/2013

Evening sportsfans!! hopefully a couple of days break has freshened things up a bit & hopefully we can back to winning ways again tomorrow..

1pt e/w NIGHT TRADE 2.40 ayr (nap) 16/1 bet365

the old boy has been running well recently without alot of luck & he was only undone by a couple of improving 3yo's last time out. hes now slipped 3lb below his last winning turf mark & interestingly has only ever ran twice in C6 contests.. resulting in two wins!!

1pt e/w ORWELLIAN 3.10 ayr (nb) 11/1 bet365

C&D winner who has also dropped a couple of pound below his last winning mark. seems to have been campaigned at the wrong trip so far this term in order to get his mark down & he showed alot more on his last start when back at 6f & can make his presence felt here.

1pt e/w ANOTHER FOR JOE 4.40 12/1 bet365

gets a massive weight pull with silver rime on there running here in august & whilst you do have to cherry pick his form slightly he goes well with some cut underneath & has been placed in the grade off higher marks.

1pt e/w CLUMBER PLACE 5.10 12/1 bet365

another who will relish some give underfoot & is re-united with graham lee who has a win & two places on her from four starts & seems to be the go to guy when they fancy there chances.

Evening sportsfans!! its starting to get bloody cold in this freezer i dont mind telling you!! we've been on the cold list for that long we're virtually #teamicecube !!! :-/

2pts e/w GRAN MAESTRO 5.00 catterick (nap) 7/1 bet365

has been thereabouts in better races than this recently & goes particularly well for an apprentice so jason harts claim can make the difference here.

1pt e/w AMIR PASHA 4.30 catterick (nb) 13/2 bet victor

has dropped just a pound above his last winning mark & this really isn't a great race & won't take much winning to be honest.

6/10/1973

Evening sportsfans!! well not the greatest cards tomorrow on the turf & we have competitive if low grade stuff at wolverhampton on the polytrack but hopefully we can find a winner or two..

1pt e/w SMALLJOHN 2.30 wolves (nap) 12/1 bet365

tom eaves returns to the saddle & it also cioncides with him dropping back into a C5 for the first time since his last win. hes now dropped 3lb below his last winning mark & is a multiple C&D winner. hes got a cracking draw in 4 with no pace on his inside & he should be able to get on the front end early then its catch me if you can time!!

1pt e/w ALS MEMORY 4.30 wolves (nb) 10/1 bet365

has slipped to a winning a/w mark & has been running in races alot better than this recently. his from at the early part of the year is very strong in the context of this race.

1pt e/w STEEL CITY BOY 4.00 wolves 16/1 bet365

good old annie oakley takes the ride on the old stager & whilst he is a plodder he does win his share of these low grade affairs & after the handicapper has dropped him a couple of pounds following his running on third behind the improving 3yo father fred last time he now finds himself 2lb below his last winning mark & tomorrow could well be his turn.

1pt e/w ROYAL ETIQUETTE 5.00 wolves 7/1 bet365

has now dropped to mark he can get competitive off & the handy pound the handicapper has taken off enables him to sneak into this very weak 0-60 contest.
