Evening sportsfans!! considering we didn't find a winner a very good day was had by followers with our advised bets seeing double figure gains following the nap placing @ 14/1 to go with places @ 14/1 (advised) & 16/1 (s.p.) now we've got our noses firmly in front for the month hopefully we can press on..
2pt e/w GLEN MOSS 3.50 newbury (nap) 11/2 skybet
looked quite a progressive animal when winning a doncaster handicap in june & was by no means disgraced when fourth last time at royal ascot & the drop back into C3 company can do the trick & get him back on track. his royal ascot form is the best on offer here in what was a very hot race.
1pt e/w MEDICI TIME 2.20 newmarket (nb) 8/1 william hill
last years winner comes here on a 3lb lower mark & newmarket seems to bring the best out in this dual course winner.
1pt e/w THUNDERBALL 3.30 ripon 50/1 bet365
either i've missed something or this fellas massive value here. hes a C&D winner who drops to his last winning mark where he beat spinatrix a length. he gave spinatrix 6lb that day.. and tomorrow he recieves 4lb!! yet the dods runner is as short as single figure prices?
e/w trixie (2pts in total)
3.15 newbury (Hungerford Stakes G2)
the fascinating horse here has to be soft falling rain, unbeaten in his native south africa then carrying all before him at meydan during the carnival. he gets a BHA rating of 115 & thats on the back of beating snowboarder 2l in the UAE 2000 guineas, a feat that has also been achieved by tawhid this term when he beat the same rival by the same distance at goodwood recently so why there so wide apart in the betting i'm not so sure & i can't help but feel he's been priced up on what he could achieve as to to rather than what hes actually done thus far but all his meydan runs where on an artificial surface so the question has to be wether he can re-produce it on turf, in fact he hasn't got to re-produce it hes got to actually produce a career best to take this...after a 140 day break it will take some training performance from the De Kock camp to get him here on his A-game & i just cant see it.. the only other line of form we have for him is his UAE guineas trial run when he beat a horse of saeed bin suroors whos claim to fame is winning a C3 handicap on the a/w off a mark of 83. certainly not the strongest form i'm sure you'll agree & with major doubts about the trip (looks far better over a mile to me) i have to take him on. i'll be laying win & place as i think both tawhid & gregorian both have stronger form than him & casper netscher is held by tawhid on a line through garswood & i cant help but feel that last years german 2000 guineas winner is a far better horse fresh so i'll be backing tawhid.
as regular readers will know the now legend that is thomas, an elderly gentlemen who went out of his way to buy me a pint after winning enough to go on his first holiday in over 10 years through following the blog has now returned & put even more faith back in humanity by bringing me a present back! i mentioned in an email that i had a sweet tooth so the legend has bought me two sticks of seaside rock which arrived in the post this morning..an absolute gent of a man.
regards
