Evening sportsfans!! well we where well & truly de-railed today with the 5pt nap finishing absolutly stone last! in a way it made me feel better as if it had been beaten a length or so then there would of been no question but that clearly wasn't the horse that i seen win on its last appearance although i'm not offering any excuses & horses will make fools out of far better men than me i can assure you. onto tomorrow & hopefully we can get back on track...
2pts e/w LABARINTO 2.20 haydock (nap) 8/1 stan james
he has had a bit of a stop start career but when he gets it right hes a decent tool. on a line through viewpoint he has the beating of the johnston 3yo here & i think he could well be open to further progression. the firmer ground will suit him far better here & ryan moore is different gravy in the saddle in my opinion.
1pt e/w STONE OF FOLCA 2.05 ascot (nb) 14/1 skybet
has finally dropped below his last winning mark as the handicapper has been a bit reluctant to drop him in a rush but on his favoured fast ground he could just slip away from these early & if they give him a lead he has to be a big danger.
1pt e/w SAPTAPADI 1.30 ascot 14/1 william hill
i've been waiting for this fella to be stepped up in trip as all he does is gallop, but thats all he'll need to do here to win this & his only try over 2m was when 2nd in a Group 2 when in his days with sir michael stoute & i cant help but feel hes still got a touch of class about him.
1pt e/w SCATTER DICE 3.15 ascot 12/1 bet365
this is another who the handicapper hasn't been quick to drop but tomorrow will be her lowest mark of the season so far & this C&D winner has clocked up some decent placed efforts off higher marks during the summer.
e/w yankee (2pts in total)
the interesting race from a spectators point of view has to be the highclere hype horse telescope who goes in a G3 at haydock. in all fairness i was on course when he made his re-appearance at my local track leicester & whilst it was little more than a racecourse gallop he did look a million dollars in the paddock but he does strike me as a long striding galloping type & i really thought he'd of been stepped up in trip if i'm honest. wether to lay is a tough call as its probably one of the weakest G3's you'll see this summer & if city style can bring his form from dubai to the table we could have a race but i'm not convinced meydan form travels well & his performances in this country are yet to match his performances abroad so i think i'll be keeping my powder dry & see if old harry herbert can talk his way back into the #stealingaliving league top 10!! many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting guys!!
p.s. its cornered viper time!! ;-)
