Evening sportsfans!! well a bit disappointing day today really, the nap being heavily backed but no joy although we did manage a couple of winners on our trixie to show a small a profit :-) here are tomorrows thoughts...
5pts e/w ALFIE SPINNER 3.40 SANDOWN (nap) 7/1 (pp)
3pts e/w BIG FELLA THANKS 2.40 WINCANTON (NB) 6/1 (bv)
1pt e/w KYLENOE FAIRY 3.00 SANDOWN 40/1 (wh)
1pt e/w OSCAR PRAIRIE 2.05 WINCANTON 33/1 (lad)
0.5pt e/w yankee
alfie spinner is a very strong nap tomorrow, not only on the strength of his own form but also the fact that alot of his rivals are out of form & are starting to get a bit long in the tooth to be honest.he ran an absolute blinder in the reynoldstown less than a year ago finishing just under 3l behind bobs worth (now rated 171) & 4l in front of silviniaco conti (now rated 172).after failing to stay in the 4miler at the festival he reappeared in the united house gold cup at ascot running a blinder off this mark until fitness got the better of him in the closing stages behind roberto goldback.he only got as far as the third fence in the hennessy when locking horns again with bobs worth but that was very out of character as he's normally a sound jumper & i like the booking of noel fehily replacing the 3lb claimer that has rode him the last twice.i think this is the perfect trip for big fella thanks & he's never finished out of the frame when completing in C2 events.all his best form is in listed & graded class races and it was only 4 runs back that he was placed in the greatwood gold cup off a 4lb higher mark.oscar prairie, now before you go sending for the men in the white coats hear me out!!lol i know he's been pulled up on his last 3 outings but prior to that he tried to give 3lb to the nicky henderson trained bears affair (now rated 147) going down by 5l & that was after he'd taken a kempton C3 handicap off a mark of 125.with his jockeys claim he goes off 123 & also has winning form on heavy ground (one win & a place from 2 runs). that was when the run of P/U's started but the first was in a G3 over 3m at aintree (dont think he stays that far),he then went over fences but in my opinion he's not a fan of the larger obstacles as he can be a bit ponderous at his obstacles & he's had a break to freshen him up (50% s/r when coming back off a 60 day plus break) and i think he looks a cracking e/w bet.kylenoe fairy is another who has winning form on heavy going and is now 3lb lower than when finishing second in a listed h'cap & whilst he has to bounce back from a couple of lacklustre efforts that might not be that difficult as i simply don't think she stays much further than this trip & has been tried over further the last twice.shes obviously had problems & hopefully her run behind kentford grey lady will have blown away the cobwebs & at likely big odds could well be worth a few shillings e/w.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & i hope you've found it both interesting & informative.good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)
