7/9/2012

morning sportsfans!!! as always a quick word on yesterday...i really could sit here allday bemoaning our bad luck but it wont change anything, our tip got hammered at every opportunity before running on strongly for 2nd to land the place money...but the worst was yet to come...artisan was pulled out to make a his challenge & bizarrley the jockey then dropped his hands!! the only thing i can think is he must of misjudged the distance of the race, which is scant consolation to followers & he only just held on for second.the bright side was the points system i've implemented showed a little profit on its first day (+5pts).but enough of the past & onto the future & i think ive found a few diamonds in the rough today so here goes..

todays BACK selections...

PERFECT BLOSSOM 2.30 HAYDOCK
this mare takes a serious drop in class today and
should reward followers at a nice price, she comes here
on a mark amazingly only 2lb higher than when taking a goodwood
h'cap off 78,completing a nap hand in the progress but her h'cap mark then rocketed into the 90's & as a result was campaigned in some very good races including the skybet sprint at york & the dash at epsom.dale swift takes off a valuable 3lb bringing his mark technically to 77...and she really could pick these up & carry them
if shes only 80% today & carries maximum confidence.
5pts e/w @ 8/1

SUN RAIDER 4.10 HAYDOCK
this one went into my notebook lto as he seemed to get unbalanced at a crucial stage of the race & comes here very dangerously h'capped on a 6lb lower mark than his last winning mark of 89 over c&d back in june '10 & for a 5-y-o he's relativly lightly raced tbh.he does like a bit of cut but is equally at home on a decent surface & was only 3L behind farlow at the death lto which was his best run to date for this yard.they have given him time to settle in & get used to his new surroundings & the patience can pay off today.
2pts e/w @ 14/1

PHLUKE 5.55 BRIGHTON
this one will need no introduction to most of you & comes here on a pound lower mark than when winning here just over a year ago.this
is his level nowadays & his track knowledge will stand him in good stead here.i think he's got his own idea's about the game & has probably forgot more than his young jockey knows, however, his brighton record over 7f+ reads.. 2-1-2-2-3-3-1-2-3-1-3-5!! now are you taking notice!! :-) he loves to hear his hooves rattle as well so he's got optimum conditions today for the first time in a long time & at double figure odds could be a gift from above!
2pts e/w @16/1

for our points staking system i will be doing these in a 1pt. e/w trixie as well.so today's total points staked is 26,lets see how we get on!! once again many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing ahead & as always good luck with whatever you decide as your investments for the day.

6/9/2012

morning all!! we have to start with a quick word on yesterday...
bitterly disappointing, red bay now has the look of a horse that hasn't trained on at all, sometimes you have to give horses a chance to repay faith showed in them, not this one, scrub it off any list you've got it in & i wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up in a seller/claimer next time out.the nap didnt fair any better, even jesus wasnt't right every time!!so onto today...ive decided to change things around a little today following feedback from followers,i will be listing the selections & also putting a staking plan with them... so at the end of the day we'll have a profit/loss to a points stake so here goes....

todays BACK selections...

qushci                              4.40 haydock

right then then this filly comes here only 2lbs higher than her last winning mark of 89,but crack irish apprentice michael murphy takes off a valuable 7lb & can tip the balance in her favour.shes had 7 runs since that newmarket win & there have been feesable excuses ever since, her h'cap mark rocketed to the late 90's after that victory so h'caps were off the menu for a while & was punted in listed class until last time when beaten a neck off 88 in a newmarket h'cap, shes been put up 3lb for that effort but murphys claim will be invaluable today, she'll bounce off this ground & has optimum conditions today so im expecting a massive run.
5pts e/w @ 8/1

valencha                          3.45 salisbury

now this race is a C2 in name only,a very weak affair for the grade imo and represents a serious drop in class for this mare & there are feesable excuses for her last three runs, whilst she does go on a softer surface shes far more at home on top of the ground & also has a course victory to her name which is a big advantage, jimmy fortune is an excellent jockey round here & she represents massive value at 16/1 freely available.
3pts e/w @ 16/1

artisan                             5.10 haydock

now this could be a typical brian ellison "cheat horse" thats now 5lb below his winning a/w mark of 65,still relativly unexposed this one could still have improvement in him.it was reported as having breathing troubles earlier this season & the addition of the tongue tie today could be a master stroke.clearly doesnt stay 16f & will be far more at home over todays 12f trip.
2pts e/w @10/1

so we have a total stake of 20pts....lets see how we end up at the end of the day!! :-) many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing,i have to say thankyou for all the positive feedback ive recieved recently, when you do this for a living locking yourself away in the study for 8-10 hrs a day can get quite lonely sometimes so many thanks & its nice to feel appreciated,as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money today & best wishes.

5/9/2012

morning sportsfans!!! another great day on the blog yesterday supplying a 7/1 winner @ sp...the nap failed to set the world alite but did show up for a long way from an awful draw,he's definatly one to keep an eye on at musselburgh in the future.not one to walow in our success lets blast straight into todays cards...now i have to be honest & ive put a line thro lingfield & bath as they were truly awful in my eyes...so its off to kempton for todays selections....

today's BACK selections are...

the new black                    9.00 kempton

well i did that much digging on this one i thought i'd end up in australia at one stage!!lol this one comes here on a pound lower mark than when she won at brighton and ran an excellent
race in defeat here at kempton when only 3L behind bint alzain off a mark of 67....at first glance she
seems in with an average shout...now let me hit you with the sucker punch....she's only ever raced as far as 8f, and to be fair has performed with credit, which is amazing as she's by a kahyasi mare packed full of stamina, her half sibblings include big eared fran (2m 4f hurdle winner) spifer (beaten a s.h. in a 1m 4f heritage h'cap at ascot off 88) and spieta (once raced maide trained by luca cumani who fetched 65,000 as a yearling) today she goes into unknown territory over 13f & watch her bloom, anything shes done upto now has to be treated as a bonus on her pedigree as there a late maturing family so on her 11th run she'll just be coming to herself, maximum confidence is carried today.

red bay                             7.30 kempton

now this was a bit of a conundrum but red bay will carry our cash, back onto his last winning mark of 73 comes here with a cracking e/w shout in the context of his 4l defeat by galician (rated 91) last year,he then went on to win his nursery here at kempton, this season he's been quite highly tried in a couple of C4 h'caps but back in his grade today can show them a clean pair of heels & get his 3-y-o career back on track.

i have to say many thanks for your kind words recently regarding my blog as it seems to be proving quite popular looking at the amount of traffic going thro it!! there are still the odd fraction that just want to have a dig but if they dont have anything better to do with there lives then carry on!! :-) if theres anything you'd like to ask me regarding my selections feel free to ask at anytime,i will always give you my honest opinion,in fact even if you would like my opinion on your selections i would be more than happy to share my views.
i have to be honest, whilst i try to make my blog as intersting as possible it is a bit dull...if anyone has any ideas how i can "jazz it up" a bit they would be gratefully recieved....in the meantime many thanks on sharing my thoughts on todays racing & good luck with whatever you decide today.

4/9/2012

well we can quite easily put a line thro yesterday, awful days racing that should of been scrubbed from the outset.we'll move swiftly on to today then & this is a first for the blog,im very excited about today & have about six horses on my short list so im gonna to do it on a points basis...ten points being the nap & so on...

todays BACK selections...

lees anthem                 5.35 musselburg (5pts e/w)

now we had to do some digging to find this but think we could of unearthed a gem!!
hes back on his last winning mark off 52 (granted that was in 2010) over C&D
and ran with great credit off a pound higher mark in may this year & clearly loves it here.
back on his favoured ground & trip hes a serious contender here @ a potentially massive price.
he also has the hood on for the first time today which is a massive bonus & tells me
the yard means business.

rumh                           4.40 goowood (3pts e/w)

she was third LTO over an inadequate 9F in a listed event which was a cracking effort for this
daughter of monsun who will relish every yard of this 16F trip today, scooted home over this
trip @ kempton by 7L & expect much of the same today now shes back on the same mark
here, having performed in all the right races last year she was behind the likes of blue bunting, banimpire
& masked marvel in the st. leger no less.(altho beaten a fair way) and has some serious back class.
if you back on the place markets only this has to be a ten star nap for that.

light from mars            2.30 leicester (2pts e/w)

this one needs no introduction for most of you and comes here on a career low mark.
it was only last april he was lifting the spring cup @ newbury,he did finish 2nd three runs
back on unsuitably soft ground so does retain some ability & this is a typical horse
that will go in when you havent got a shilling on it!!lol however im tempted to him
today as hes been looking a bit like a petulant schoolboy so the introduction of
first time cheekpieces could just be whats required to sharpen him up.

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing.
ive been accused of being "secretive" with my tweeting, not really sure what they mean by this
but as its a constructive criticism i'll try & rectify it.twitter is an integral tool for any professional gambler
and very much so for me,going reports especially have been very wayward with the summer of
rain we've had & the "twitterati" is a much better source of solid going descriptions, the scottish tracks are covered by @bigtamthebam_12,the north west by @glennphil2010 & @yorkycourse & the southern areas by @badgerracing77.just a simple tweet to these guys will give you a far better going description than
any newspaper and they are all approachable guys with a keen interest in racing.anyway onto the "secretive"
tweets, the problem on twitter is that with only 140 characters to play with you have to shorten & abbreviate alot of words & thats simply all i do,looking in from the outside i realise this looks like some kind of morse code sometimes but it really isnt...should i tweet something that you cant workout all i can say is simply ask...i dont bite & will always respond!! well thats me done for today & hopefully at teatime i'll be sitting on my balcony with a large cigar.....well thats the plan anyway!! :-) as always good luck with whatever you decide today for your money & best wishes.

3/9/2012

morning followers...not the greatest day yesterday, haadeeth landed the place money but that was about as good as it got to be honest...so swiftly onto today...

todays BACK selections are...

steel rain                            4.20 ffos las (NAP)

just the one selection today on what is a pretty poor day in the uk for racing today.
he comes here after having a couple of warm up spins (this is the norm for this gelding)
and should be ready to strike,he's now only a pound higher than his last win, here at ffos las
over c&d.the form of his win here is very solid with the third placed horse coming
out & winning off 76 on monday,in the context of this race thats serious form.
off his previous mark of 59 the handicapper had him in his grip....but now hes been dropped
a few pounds should be able to get competitive again.
many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing,
i do not charge for the information on here & feel strongly when people try & use the
information on here to sell on....you will be blocked & deleted...you have been warned.
good luck with whatever you decide today.

2/9/2012

morning #teamchoochoo!!!!!! another massive priced winner bolts in for the blog yesterday, however our nap was most disappointing,it has since been revealed she has had a pricked foot & returned to james fanshawes with her hoof three times the size, kieran fallon reported she never travelled at all & we wish her a speedy recovery.onto today then...

todays BACK selections...

estrela                       5.00 folkestone (NAP)
haadeeth                   3.30 folkestone  (NB)

we'll break with tradition & kick off with the NB today & its our old friend haadeeth, put up earlier this week by the blog he got caught out wide with no cover & wasnt overly knocked about, the mere fact he's out again so quickly tells you all you need to know & with SDS on top im looking for a massive run today.a wide draw could work to his benefit today, this will enable silvester the cat to drop him in & get some cover for a late swoop, now when he ran LTO the ground was described as "good" now if that was good ground at lingfield im the pope,he wants it as quick as you like so keep an eye on the early races.
so onto todays nap, estrela, goes in the lucky last & should be well worth waiting for.
back in may she finished third in the lingfield oaks trial, altho beaten 8L she was heavily eased when her chance of winning had gone & since has been dropped in trip which is very strange as shes by authorized so this extra two furlongs today will be just what the doctor ordered.after the oaks trial she was again quite highly tried in a listed event behind coquet (rated 107) then was not disgraced behind yesterdays scorer dank at ascot, she has been dropped 5lbs since her last run & gets in here off 85,with james doyle taking over the reigns today she looks well worth our NAP in the lowest grade race shes competed in.
i'll be backing these e/w & in an e/w double, but as always good luck with whatever you decide today
and many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing.

1/9/2012

morning followers,a new month,a fresh start!! :-) yesterday was most disappointing, the nap done everything right, seized the rails, got the lead...then found nothing when buick but the gun to his head...scrub!...the nb selection had awful luck in running, running on a fast finishing 4th beaten half a length in total, but thats racing as they say. onto today...

todays BACK selections...

captivator                         3.25 sandown (NAP)
labarinto                           4.00 sandown  (NB)

well take it from the top & this is very interesting today, she needs a good break between races as she struggles with bad knees,so have a look at her form after a 60+ day break..1-1-2-1 in fact the longer the break the better.shes seen to best effect over a mile & bouncing off the ground, which she gets today, you can scrub her run LTO as she was outclassed in the windsor forest at royal ascot but prior to that finished just over a length behind 115 rated izzi top & she brings form to the table of the highest order winning the G1 pretty polly & finishing less than a length behind snow fairy, there is absolutly nothing of that calibre here today so she only needs to run within around 10lb of that performance to pick these up & carry them.kieran fallon continues on board today & i would imagine he would of had the pick of quite a few here.at around 10/1 (i got this last night) she is a monumental e/w bet.now the NB selection has taken a bit more investigating, this time last year he was most progressive, winning a C2 h'cap at goodwood in taking style off a  mark of 93,but after that started to get aggitated in the parade ring & showed signs of petulance in all three starts since.however michael stoute isnt a sir for his contributions to cake making,he knows his onions,so it was off to the vets & nuts off!! this should
help this gelding massivly today as basically he was getting horny prior to his races!! we have to take a bit off a leap of faith that it has done the trick but at likely odds must be an e/w banker as he does have the back class to take this.

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog,i try & make it an interesting read but if you have any constructive criticism or comments i would love to hear them & as always, good luck with whatever you decide today..
