30/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well a quiet day today after the hoy paloy of the cambridgeshire & the nap finishing where all decent e/w shot's finish...bloody fourth! :-( tomorrow start's the first day of a fresh month & let's start as we mean to go on...hopefully with a winner!!:-)

SPANISH PLUME 3.50 BATH (NAP)

this reg hollinshead trained gelding come's here just a pound above his last turf winning mark & can get his head back in front tomorrow.he's had feasable excuse's since & also notched a win on the a/w off a 2lb higher mark at kempton.he's been set some stiff task's this year off  mark's in the high 70's but showed he still retain's plenty of ability when running noble jack close at wolverhampton in july of this year.he ran a very solid race lto behind dolphin rock without doing enough to trouble the handicapper but also showing plenty of promise & it look's like the stable have purposly targeted this weak race to get him back in the winner's enclosure.
1.5pts E/W @ 16/1 (ladbrokes)

well not too much damage done today and our "mythical" bank now rest's at 110pts after deducting tomorrow's stake's.owing to the abandonment of hamilton tomorrow it only leave's us the bath card to go at on the flat.i dont even look at the jumps until after the november handicap so the newton abbot card was a no no for me but touchwood i think i've found us a decent one tomorrow.as alway's many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow.. :-)

30/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! well not a great day yesterday,i got the draw completely wrong in the cambridgeshire & i think you can put a line through the form of all the high drawn horse's as they were never in it.onto today...

SHESHA BEAR 4.30 EPSOM (NAP)

this one epitomises the phrase "horses for course's" nine run's here at epsom, three win's & three place's already in the bag & i think another big run is on the card's now it's down to a managable mark.he did rattle up a hat trick last year which saw him rise 25lb in the h'cap which eventually took it's toll & only now is he down to a workable mark.he like's a bit of cut which according to going report's he will get & follower's can collect yet again!! :-)
1pt e/w @ 20/1 (bet365)

that conclude's the month of september with us sitting proudly on our "mythical" balance of 113pts!! many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as alway's good luck with whatever you decide today.

29/9/2012

evening sportsfans!!! and what an evening it is!! :-) i said it was the silly season but there's nothing silly about a 20/1 winner guys!!!
awesome day, biggest priced winner since i started writing the blog & am chuffed to bit's & very smug!!lol onto tomorrow & rather than take the easy way out i've decided to tackle the cambridgeshire so here are my thought's...

MIJHAAR 3.40 NEWMARKET

this roger varian trained gelding has a touch of class about him & i think he can go well from a decent draw tomorrow.so far he's filled the place's behind the like's of black spirit, gatewood, fury & dandino to name a few this season & there is no shame in that as they are all seriously smart performer's.the key with him though he's such a huge framed horse that i think he'll only be coming to himself about this time of year & this is still only the ninth run of his career & could still have improvement in him.neil callan take's the ride & he's a more than capable big race pilot & can bring home the money for follower's tomorrow.
2.5pts E/W @ 14/1 (ladbrokes)

well after today's monster haul our "mythical" bank now sit's at a bulging 120pts!!!!! deduct 5pts for tomorrow's stake's & that leave's us on a very tasty overnight balance of 115pts.there are a couple of other thing's that i like tomorrow including birdman & smarty socks but there's nothing else that i would consider as a "blog" selection apart from birdman if it came up really soft tomorrow.as alway's many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!!! :-) i'm out on the lash now to spread some love amongst the female population....if only i could study there "form" as well as the equine variety my life would be complete!!!!lol

28/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well a real head scratcher today was to be honest, the nap running no race whatsoever & a real disappointment,i'm certainly not going to try & make excuses that aren't there so onto tomorrow & here are my thought's...

PENITENT 2.20 NEWMARKET (NAP)

this former lincoln winner want's bang on a mile,no more,no less & also love's to get his toe in & i think thing's might just drop right for him tomorrow as he need's a strong pace to run at & he's not really had that this season.you can excuse his last three run's as he had valid excuses, very highly tried in france followed by an impossible task at the weight's over in ireland then running a solid race over 7f lto.prior to this though he ran a blinder under his optimum condition's in the bet365 mile & a repeat of that can see him go close tomorrow.
1pt E/W @ 20/1 (boylesports)

just the one bet tomorrow as at this time of year i like thing's to settle down & let the weather calm down a bit to be honest.even now the going report's are way off what they should be & it is basically stiffing punter's & the sooner someone does something about it the better.our "mythical" bank now sit's at 95 pts after today's blank, take away 2pts for tomorrow's stake's leave's us on an overnight balance of 93pts.i will still be putting my thought's up for all to sea but at this time of year the best advice i can give anyone is unless you really fancy something then keep to minimal stake's as it really is the silly season for result's.speaking of silly season the cambridgeshire consolation race take's place tomorrow & i think switzerland can run a big race @ around 50/1,ive still got a few more video's to watch regarding the race & that's the only reason it hasn't been put down as a blog selection.many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

Wednesday 26 September 2012

27/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well a god awful day today in all fairness, hence just the one bet & our lowest stake's since the blog started. the nap ran like a dog & must be swerved until showing some interest.it really is the worst time of year for finding winner's, end of one season & the beginning of another & throw into that the bizarre weather recently & you really have got a challenge but we'll soldier on as i think i've found a couple tomorrow...

CAPTAIN ROYALE 3.30 PONTEFRACT (NAP)

he come's here on his last winning mark of 68 & more importantly will handle the give underfoot which can tip the scale's in his favour tomorrow.he also has C&D winning form which is another major advantage round here.there are valid excuses for his last three run's, the draw, the grade & then the trip thwarting him but all seem's in his favour tomorrow & can reward follower's at a nice price.
1.5pts E/W @ 12/1 (bet365)

ELAS DIAMOND 3.10 NEWMARKET (NB)

this jeremy noseda trained 4-y-o mare poses a real headache here but i think she could be well worth taking a chance on tomorrow.i've watched replay after replay of her last run & i'm convinced she'll be seen to better effect the softer the ground she get's,even though she ran blue bunting to a length in october 2010 on gd/sft i think she want's real deep ground & she might just get that tomorrow with all this rain & frankie takes over at HQ so that's a massive bonus.she's owned by the newsells park stud so they will be going hell for leather to get some black type into her & i think she can take this on the way to better thing's in the latter half of the season & she must of been showing more than a fair bit at home for them to persevere with her & follower's can reap reward's.
0.5pts E/W @ 20/1 (bet365)

0.5pts E/W double

just a couple of point's lost today so we're back on our original "mythical" bank balance of 100pts, deduct 5pts for tomorrow's stake's & that leave's us on an overnight balance of 95pts. there are a few other thing's that i like tomorrow including lost in the moment & boogie shoe's, i also like duchess dora but i'm a bit concerned about the trip.that just about sum's up my thought's on tomorrow's racing & if you like what you've read why not give me a R/T? alternativly why not let me know what you fancy as i'm alway's open to some friendly banter!! :-) many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as alway's happy punting!!!

26/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! well not a bad day at all considering the nap got chinned, however it did manage to hold on for second to reward follower's with some place money.the nb striker torres was a non runner & the other two that got a mention, duster (won 9/2) & mostly bob (2nd 9/1) both running fine races so all in all a satisfactory day's work.enough of today & onto tomorrow's thought's...

ALKIMOS 4.15 GOODWOOD

this godolphin inmate get's into this race after being dropped 3lb since his last run when not staying the trip in the ebor.however that just scratches the surface of his true potential as he's got some serious back class, the weight drop see's him get into 0-100 races as opposed to facing the top handicapper's rated 100 plus & he can take advantage tomorrow.frankie dettori get's the leg up which is a massive plus & he also handle's some cut in the ground as he showed when a fine fourth off a mark of 101 to camborne at ascot over this trip.prior to that he had a summer campaign in meydan with some excellent effort's behind the like's of songcraft & bronze cannon & he can reward follower's tomorrow.
1pt E/W @ 12/1 (widely available)

well after today's placing & the n/r we have a return of 7pts which put's us on a very healthy "mythical" bank of 102pts.deduct 2pts for tomorrow's stake's & that leave's us sitting pretty on an overnight balance of 100pts.there are quite a few other thing's that i like tomorrow but for one reason or another haven't made it into the blog,i'll list them below & i'll let you make your own mind's up & pick the bone's out of them!!! :-)
cardinal 4.50
handle's some cut & on a decent mark also jim crowley excel's round goodwood.
berberana 5.25
another that will love a bit of cut & is on a dangerous mark.
bescot springs 4.30
could get involved off this mark if fully wound up for tomorrow.
soprana 5.05
very well handicapped on old form & has been running well on the flat recently.
kuda huraa 8.20
just got ran out of it lto off this mark & can make amend's tomorrow.
athwaab 8.50
excellent draw & might just be able to give them the slip off a low weight.
leelu 9.20
very well handicapped & like's it here.
that just about sum's up my thought's on tomorrow's racing & as alway's many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

25/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!!! and what a good evening it is after today's nap broke our losing streak & hit the bullseye at a juicy 8/1!! so it's fillet steak all round here at mallard tower's this evening! onto tomorrow and here are my thought's...

MAYBEME 5.10 BEVERLEY (NAP)

since her last victory, here at beverley over C&D, this neville bycroft trained mare has been stepped up in trip & she blatantly doesn't stay so a return to this trip can work the oracle for her tomorrow, she's twice won off this mark here at beverley & has also been placed here four times, all off mark's higher than she race's off tomorrow.more importantly she's versatile as far as the ground goes having acted with a bit of cut & on top of the ground in the past & with the current weather condition's this is imperative.she can get her head back in front here at her beloved beverley under a capable 5lb claimer.
1pt E/W @ 10/1 (bet365)

STRIKER TORRES 4.10 BEVERLEY (NB)

this is another beverley "specialist" who can take advantage of a slipping mark tomorrow.he's now 3lb below his last winning mark over C&D and also benefit's from a decent draw.however, recently he's been stepped up in trip & i dont think he get's much further than 7f to be honest so this return to C&D will be a welcome relief to him.regular pilot graham lee take's back over the reign's tomorrow & he can guide this one home for follower's.
1pt E/W @ 10/1 (ladbrokes)

0.5pt E/W double

well after today's nap romped home our "mythical" bank balance has swelled back to 100pts,deduct 5pts for tomorrow's stake's & we're now back on an overnight balance of 95pts.to be honest there's not much else that catches my eye tomorrow apart from duster over at folkestone who i think will go well & i think mostly bob can get involved off this mark at newton abbot.many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thought's on tomorrow's racing and as alway's best of luck for whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

24/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! another day goes by & the drought goes on i'm afraid folk's but we'll keep banging away, here's tomorrow's thought's...

NORTHERN BOLT 4.10 HAMILTON (NAP)

this gelding come's here on a mark of 61 & look's well treated to score here.he ran an excellent race in defeat off a mark of 69 on soft ground in may & now find's himself 7lb lower than his last victory & can return to the winner's enclosure tomorrow.all his better run's have been on ground with some cut & has won here at hamilton.he has been there or thereabout's off mark's in the late sixtie's & a combination of the step upto 6f,give in the ground & a decent draw can see this lad home in front tomorrow.
2.5pts E/W @ 8/1 (bet365)

well this is interesting as i thought i'd get stuck into the form book big time today & 12hrs on i have a shortlist of NINE horse's for tomorrow!!! :-) it would be impossible to put them all in the blog for one reason or another so here's my shortlist...
hamilton:
captain scooby 2.10
back on his last winning mark, has a decent draw & will handle a bit of cut.
collateral damage 3.40
another back on a winning mark & james sullivan back in the saddle a big plus, but trip an unknown.
cheyenne red 4.40
another one who's slipped to a dangerous mark & will relish the ground, could go well at a price.
distant sun 5.10
freddie tylicki up a massive bonus & back on his last winning mark altho it was quite a while ago but love's it here.
leicester:
noodle's blue boy 4.00
C&D form a big plus here & is on a nice mark & has a decent draw,
at a price could be worth a few quid e/w.
west end lad 5.00
another with C&D form who'll like a bit of cut.
*I LIVE IN LEICESTER & IT'S CURRENTLY CHUCKING IT DOWN WITH RAIN & THE CHANCE'S OF THE GOING BEING GOOD/FIRM AS DESCRIBED IS VIRTUALLY NIL AT THE MINUTE*
kempton:
cruiser 5.20
love's it round here & is back in his right grade, another that can go well at a price.
shamir 5.50
another that love's it round here who has slipped to a dangerous mark.

well that just about sum's up my thought's on tomorrow's racing, our "mythical" bank now sit's at a meagre 75pts,deduct 5pts for tomorrow's stake's & we have an overnight balance of 70pts.
many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as alway's good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

Evening sportsfans!! well the flag's here at mallard tower's are well & truly flying at half mast today folk's...need to stem this bad run a.s.a.p. so swiftly onto tomorrow...

ROCK CANYON 3.50 HAMILTON (NAP)

our quest for a winner take's us north of the border tomorrow & i think this linda perratt trained gelding is poised to strike.he's been steadily slipping down the h'cap & now find's himself a pound below his last winning mark, here at hamilton.whilst that win was over 5f he did win his maiden here over C&D showing the extra furlong to be well within his grasp.he love's some give underfoot & all seem's set for a massive run tomorrow.
2.5pts E/W @ 16/1 (bet365)

well after today's capitulation the overnight balance on our "mythical bank" is 80pts, less 5pts for tomorrow's stake's & we're on a balance of 75pts.please god let us return tomorrow night celebrating a winner!! :-) the main thing i've learnt today is....the DRAW isn't everything!!!!!lol many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting.

22/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well no cheer's today from camp mallard, the nap running like an absolute dog & serious question's need to be asked with that one i'm afraid...but onto tomorrow & some cracking racing in prospect over the country so let's get stuck in...

OTTAMEN EMPIRE 3.10 NEWBURY (NAP)

this horse come's here with some serious back class to his name & can regain the winning thread tomorrow.prior to him departing for a summer campaign in dubai he won off this mark on the a/w at kempton on his final start for david lanigan & performed with great distinction filling the place's behind the like's of naqshabban & spring of fame over at meydan, however, prior to his kempton win he ran a blinder trying to give 13lb to subsequent ebor winner willing foe & 2lb to the now lonsdale cup/doncaster cup winner times up,only going down in the final furlong beaten a length and a half & half a length in third in what now looked to be an impossible task & represent's rock solid form.he ran another stormer on his return to these shore's when trying to give 9lb to the john gosden trained gatewood (now rated 106) so in hindsight this was another near impossible task.he then got stuck in the mud at ascot & then caught another tartar when trying to give the roger varian trained cameron highland (now rated 106) 6lb,which again was near impossible.lto however i dont think the track suited him as he need's to get cover & be produced at the furlong marker ideally so the wide expansion's of the york knavesmire where never going to suit him as he seen daylight fully three furlong's from home with no cover & faded with a furlong to run but was still only beaten 5l at the death by the rapidly improving danadana.personally i think this is a slightly weaker race tomorrow & he can repay follower's at a nice price! :-)
1.5pts E/W @ 20/1 (coral)

MYSTERY STAR 3.55 NEWMARKET (NB)

mark thompkins valiant stayer can gain reward for some decent placed effort's recently in this cesarewitch trial.he take's a significant drope in grade & love's to hear his hooves rattle & that's exactly what he'll get tomorrow.he's been knocking on the door a few time's this season not least when running a solid race in the shergar cup behind address unknown off a pound lower mark & was only just over two length's behind sir robert ogden's very progressive stayer olympiad off a pound higher at york's ebor meeting,he can get his head in front with tom quelly doing the steering tomorrow.
0.5pt E/W @ 25/1 (widely available)

0.5pt E/W double

well after the no show from today's nap our "mythical" bank balance stand's at 85pts,minus 5pts for tomorrow's stake leave's us with an overnight balance of 80pts.other thing's that i like tomorrow are colonel mak in the steward's cup but i'm a tad worried about the draw & our old friend kaldoun kingdom sneak's into the silver cup but i'd like to see richard fahey have a few winner's before i go following him of a cliff!!! the one thing that i've certainly learnt today is that kieran fallon is most definatly off doctor marwan koukash's christmas card list!!! :-) many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & i hope ive not bored you to much!! good luck as alway's with what you decide tomorrow & happy punting!

21/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well the abandonment of ayr scuppered us today, however, our selection at pontefract has arisen far more question's than answer's to be honest...a proven front runner pulled back pulling the jockey's arm's out...very strange...certainly one to keep an eye on for future reference but onto tomorrow & here are my thought's...

FRANCISCAN 2.30 NEWBURY (NAP)

luca cumani's charge take's a welcome drop in grade tomorrow & follower's can reap the reward's now he's back to his winning level. you can scrub his last two run's as he didn't stay last time out & was hindered by the soft ground on his penultimate start & 12f on top of the ground suits him perfectly.he is 4lb above his last winning mark but i dont think we've seen the best of this son of medicean as his half brother heralded from the same stable & was a late maturing type, laterly pursuing his career in north america to great effect winning a G2 at woodbine.now here's the sucker punch guy's...everytime this horse has ran with "firm" in the going description his form read's... 1-1-1-1 !! thought that might make you take notice!!! :-) his pedigree suggest's he'll like fast ground but this lad obviously loves it! he'll do for our gang tomorrow & the evergreen kieron fallon can steer this one home for follower's.
2.5pts E/W @ 7/1 (bet365)

just the one selection for the blog tomorrow but a very strong one i believe.i do fancy two other horse's tomorrow but the cramped odd's put me off, grandeur 3.05 will welcome this drop in grade & zumbi 4.50 had no luck last time out & i believe can turn the tables on producer.our "mythical" bank now sit's on 90 pts, deduct 5 pts for tomorrow's stake & we're on an overnight balance of 85 pts.another addition to this section of the blog will now include thing's that i believe i've learnt on the day & the one thing i can gaurantee ive learnt today is dont have all your password's the same as when someone hack's you it's a right pain in the arse!! :-(  many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as always good luck & happy punting guys!! :-)

20/9/2012

Morning sportsfans!!! well it's like the old day's doing the blog in the morning but owing to the ayr abandonment there has been an overnight change in our advice.

WELL'S LYRICAL        4.30 PONTEFRACT

now this might surprise a few of you but listen on,being by saddler's wells you would expect him to like a bit of cut in the ground, quite the opposite with this lad in my opinion as he seem's to go better when bouncing off a quick surface & takes a massive drop in class today.he won over C&D last june off an 8lb higher mark than he race's off today & more importantly has going that has "firm" in the description for the first time since that day.he drop's into a C5 for the first time since his 3-y-o day's & his record in the grade read's... 2-3-3-1.as long as there's no more rain he can bounce of the forecast going & make all for follower's.the addition of first time cheakpiece's tell's me the stable are trying to sharpen him up a tad & they can work the oracle today.
1pt E/W @ 25/1 (william hill)

well i've erased the ayr bets that we advised so we're back on our balance of 92pts.deduct 2pts for today's selection & that leaves us sitting on our "mythical" balance of 90pts.many thank's for taking the time out of your day to read my updated blog & as alway's good luck & happy punting.

19/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! well one word sums today up guys...frustrating! the nap finished fourth at monster odds but owing to a withdrawn horse they only paid three places & then the nb was withdrawn so i would go so far as to say BLOODY FRUSTRATING! :-( so after another solid day of form study ive come up with the following...

BRONZE BEAU                4.10 BEVERLEY (NAP)

not only does this come into tomorrow's race only a pound above his last winning mark but a recent weight drop allow's him to take part in this low grade C5 contest & that's were the key lies as if you look at his record over 5f in C5's & lower on turf  reads... 4-2-2-3-2-4-3-2-1-3-1-2-2-1-2... now are you taking notice!! :-) amazingly his last 22 run's have all been in C4's & he's simply not good enough but drop him a level & he's uber competitive!! the form figures stand for themselves, all i can do is point the facts out to you!!
graham lee get's the leg up on linda stubbs' gelding tomorrow & that's a big plus as well as having a dream draw in 3 & i fully expect him to grab the rail & make all tomorrow.
2.5pts E/W @ 8/1 (bet365)

MANDALAY KING              3.40 BEVERLEY (NB)

this is another that can take advantage of a recent weight & class drop.again he drop's into a C5 for the first time since his last win & is amazingly now 4lb below that mark & he does have feasable excuses for his latest run's.5f is his trip as i dont think he gets the six to well & he's got a cracking draw in the one box tomorrow, align that with the drop in grade & all's set for a massive run i think.
1pt E/W @ 16/1 (bet365)

0.5pt E/W double

after today's misfortune our "mythical" bank sit's at 93pts,deduct 8pts for tomorrow's stake's & that leaves us sitting on 85 pts & touchwood i'll be reporting good news tomorrow evening!! :-) many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thought's on tomorrow's racing, normally at this point i would go through other horse's that i fancy but in all fairness the only other thing i like tomorrow is tazahum at sandown but the price isn't very tempting.if you like what you've read why not give me a re-tweet...at the same time if you disagree & fancy something else, tell me,as im alway's open to some friendly banter!! :-) good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!!

18/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!! as always a quick word on today...CRAP! simply not good enough,if you put up short priced selection's they have to win & win well so apologies on that front.however, ive had my head in the form book all day today & think i've got something a bit special for tomorrow...

POLISH WORLD              3.40 THIRSK

this gelding comes here on his last winning mark of 80 & can get his head back in front tomorrow.whilst that run was just over a year ago he's been campaigned at alot higher level since & takes a nice drop in grade tomorrow.twice in the past he's dropped to a mark of 80 & twice he's won so i see no reason to desert him tomorrow when everything seem's set for a massive run,he's versatile as far as ground goes & showed us he retain's plenty of ability this year when running dubai hills close off a 6lb higher mark at ripon.the draw does worry me slightly but he's an habitual front runner so with a half decent start he can tack over nicely without losing to much ground and make all for follower's.
3pts E/W @ 25/1 (paddy power)

ADESTE                         5.30 YARMOUTH

this took some serious digging to find this one but here goes with my finding's...this ex-michael stoute trained inmate step's up 2f in trip tomorrow & being by a sadler's wells mare will relish every step.she's actually beautifully bred being by dansili & will make a super broodmare one day but in the meantime can pick up this prize on the way.now i like to find little "quirk's" when looking into pedigree's & certain family's as alot of time they seem to have alot of the same trait's,so this made my ear's prick up when i stumbled across this little snipet...she's a half sister to an ex-dermot weld trained inmate called zulu principle, who back in december 2010 was tried in blinker's for the first time...and showed massive improvement to register his first win! with this little lady being a 3-y-o she get's all the allowance's tomorrow and the combination of the step up in trip & first time headgear can work the oracle & get her head in front.
1.5pts E/W @ 16/1 (ladbrokes)

0.5pt E/W double

after our shoddy effort today our "mythical" bank stand's at the original 100pts,less 10 pts for tomorrow's stake's leaves us on 90 pts and im confident i'll be back here with good news tomorrow evening! :-).in this section of the blog i'll now be mentioning horse's that i fancy but for whatever reason haven't made it into the blog, i.e. too short in the betting...iffy drawer...dodgy jockey...thing's like that.the first one is willie wagtail in the 5.00,if you read earlier post's i tipped up kirthill to beat it last time, which he did,but we were very lucky wagtail didnt get the best of run's at all that day & can gain compensation tomorrow.the thrill is gone in the 4.30 should take advantage of the drop in grade however i rate bertoliver a danger.two horses at thirsk look to be starting there career's on decent h'cap mark's,suegioo in the 4.10 & white nile in the 4.40... the later being a particularly well bred son of super-sire galileo.
that just about round's off my thought's on tomorrow's racing but as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money.

17/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!!!! firstly i'd like to apologize to followers that took the 6/1 on today's selection, the s.p. returned a monster 17/2 and our lad stayed on gamely to take third to return our e/w investment & at the end of the day we're doing this to make money so my sincerest apologies.it did give us a slight profit on the day so we'll march on with our dreams intact!! :-) here's tomorrow's little gem's....

KAY GEE BE       4.40 MUSSELBURGH (NAP)

once again this is not the most original of selections but remember what i said on earlier posts about looking a gift horse in the mouth... quite simply... DONT! the best horse DOES win the race sometimes no matter what the conspiracy theorist's tell you & that's what i believe will happen here.just over a year ago he was winning a C2 h'cap @ ripon off a mark of 86 & he proves he retains plenty of ability lto finishing just over a length behind voodoo prince in a very competitive C3 h'cap.some of these higher rated horses falter when dropped in grade as they've simply forgotten how to win but this lad's dipped his toe into claimng company before, his record in the grade reads 2-1-4-1 and i wouldnt even have any concerns over his defeats in this grade as they were behind mirrored (rated 94) & munsarim (rated 84) so neither defeat was a disgrace.the race conditions also suit him greatly tomorrow as he recieve's weight from all his main rivals as opposed to giving it to them if this were a h'cap.he's tried & tested over the trip & will love the underfoot condition's so all's set for a massive run.
3pts WIN @ S.P.

BELL'S O' PEAVER        3.40 MUSSELBURGH

this mark johnston trained gelding takes a handy drop in grade tomorrow & can reward connection's with a victory.he steps back up in trip which certainly wont do him any harm either & races off the same mark as lto when just chinned on the line in a C4 h'cap at epsom downs which was certainly no disgrace.his record in C5 races read's...3-2-1-3-1 so you each way thieves should be out in force!!! :-) however a big plus in his favour tomorrow is joe fanning takes over the reign's & he's riding out of his skin & can get this one home with the minimum of fuss.
1pt WIN @ 4/1 (bet365)

1pt WIN double

well after today's gutsy third place from our selection our "mythical" bank now stand's at 105pts, less 5pts for tomorrow's stakes leaves us still sat on our "mythical" 100pts.many thank's for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you well with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & the best of luck.

16/9/2012

OOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSH!!!!!!! #teamchoochoo hit back like a coiled python today nailing quick wit at a massive 8/1!! unfortunatly the ground went against the nap but he is one to definatly keep an eye on towards the back end of the season as he's dangerously well h'capped now & with a bit of give will be ready to go in shortly.on to tomorrow & it's arc "trials" day at longchamp, just the mere word "trials" puts me off & i'll be taking a watching brief while enjoying my sunday dinner! :-) we'll stay this side of the sea for our selection thanks.

COMPTON SPIRIT        3.40 BATH (NAP)

lto she gave belle bayardo 8lbs over track & trip going under by just over a length off tomorrow's mark of 70.she returns here tomorrow only having to give that rival 2lb owing to the winners 6lb penalty & that can tip the balance in her favour.she has scored over c&d a year ago off a mark of 76 in a C4 & was also just touched off here off a mark of 71 so clearly loves the place & is seen to best effect bouncing off a quick surface, exactly what she'll get tomorrow.the second horse that day, button moon has come out & franked the form with a fine run & from a favourable draw she looks primed for tomorrow.
2pts E/W @ 6/1 (bet365)

just the one selection tomorrow then folks but a quite confident one at that.our "mythical" bank has now swelled to 104 pts. after quick wit's victory today, deduct 4pts. for tomorrow's stakes leaving us nicely sat on 100pts.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money.

15/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! :-) well we didn't look the gift horse in the mouth that was sir prancealot followers & the 3/1 last night proved to be massive, got the job done with the minimal amount of fuss & it's steak tonight at mallard towers!!! :-) thats enough wollowing & onto tomorrow as we all know where only as good as our last selection so here goes with tomorrow's pearl's of wisdom...

KALDOUN KINGDOM     3.00 DONCASTER (NAP)

this richard fahey trained gelding comes here after a fine run lto when a strong finishing fifth at york,a length behind tax free.he gets a 3lb pull with dandy nicholls' gelding & will arrive here a fresher horse after a 24 day break & can turn the tables tomorrow.he has won here over C&D and has finally got down to a workable mark of 93.he has won here off a mark of 99 in the past & showed more than enough lto to tell us he still retains plenty of ability.the key with tomorrow's race tho is that conditions benefit him greatly.tomorrows race is a 0-110 in name only as top weight beacon lodge comes here completely out of form & can easily be discounted.the next top rated is secret witness on 104,who should run well at a price, which technically makes this a 0-105,so altho his h'cap mark has stayed the same,he gets into this "0-110" on a feather weight of 8st 7lb,giving him some welcome respite from carrying welter burdens recently & can tip the scales in his favour.
2pts. E/W @ 14/1 (widely available b.o.g.)

QUICK WIT     1.50 DONCASTER (NB)

well this one puzzles me slightly...as there are three godolphin horses, two godolphin jockeys....and this lad's the odd one out??
very strange but here's my thinking,he had a very progressive 3-y-o career before heading out to meydan where he ran with credit picking up a turf h'cap & running possibly his best race in defeat when fourth behind the 111 rated simon de montfort on his final start there.he then returned to these shores & was very tenderly handled (as are most godolphin animals that are re-aclimatizing when returning from dubai) over a to short 7f trip.he was then sent to newmarket & ran a fine race, again over an inadequate 7f,just failing to give 14lb to ian balding's highland colori.however, back in third that day was the sir michael stoute trained zumbi (rated 103) who was recieving 7lb & has since come out & ran a fine race in the G3 supreme stakes at goodwood giving the form a rock solid look.tomorrow see's our lad over a trip in excess of 7f for the first time since his return as he won over 10f in dubai & over 8f as a 3-y-o,so all seems set for a massive run tomorrow...and if im brutally honest i'll take william buick over mikael barzelona every day of the week.
2pts. E/W @ 8/1 (widely available)

1pt. E/W double

well after today our "mythical" bank stands at 90pts. take off 10 pts. for tomorrow's stakes & that leaves us with an overnight balance of 80pts. touchwood i'll be back tomorrow night with with good news! :-) as always i'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on tomorrow's racing,i really do enjoy my nightly rant & only wish i had more time to dedicate to it but as always any constructive criticism is always welcome.if you agree with what i say,why not give me a re-tweet?? and also if you disagree, tell me,as im always open to some friendly banter! but as always best wishes with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & good luck!!!! :-)

14/9/2012

Evening groovers!! well the flags are flying at half mast today....my gosh today was a wash out,the ground went against the irish raider & then the godolphin filly...unless they teach her to settle she'll struggle to win a seller!! but we'll march on regardless & get straight on with tomorrow's selection's...

SIR PRANCEALOT     1.15 DONCASTER (NAP)

well i find myself in unfamiliar territory here...tipping something at the front of the market!! very unoriginal but we are doing this to make money so needs must.he's got formlines with all the top          2-y-o's & sometimes you can look for things that are not there & try & convince yourself otherwise.the best horse DOES win the race sometimes & i was always taught to never look a gift horse in the mouth & i cant see anything in the race that has form within 5lb of him so at around the 3/1 mark must surely be snapped up.he's twice filled the places behind reckless abandon & chased home dawn approach at ascot, thats top level form he's bringing to the table tomorrow & really cant be opposed.
5pts. win @ 3/1 (widely available b.o.g.)

so after today's torrid day we have a mythical bank of 75 pts. less 5pts. for tomorrow's stakes leaves us with a balance of 70pts. however ive only covered the doncaster card upto now & am just about to start on the other meetings so if anything catches my eye i will update it either late tonight or early tomorrow at the very latest so be sure to check back later,i will tweet any updates as usual tho.
many thanks for sharing my thoughts & taking the time to read my blog & as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money.

13/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! we'll start as always with a quick word on today & we turned a small profit with gold city running a blinder to land our e/w bet in the 4.45,for a split second looking like he was going to hit the bullseye for #teamchoochoo but alas was not to be but we're warming up nicely as the leger festival gets into full swing so here we go with tomorrow's selections...

tomorrow's BACK selection's are...

KAILANI         2.55 DONCASTER (NAP)

this daughter of monsun was born for this near 1m 7f trip having stamina in abundance on both sides of her pedigree but that only scratches the surface of our selection.she took the pretty polly back in may by an impressive 7L from hazel lavery, who re-opposes tomorrow & then was sent to epsom to contest the oaks, how she even managed to get round at epsom is a miracle after the interference she suffered & that was after pulling the boy barzelona's arms out of there sockets for the first mile & looking all at sea on the undulations.she then went to ascot to contest the ribblesdale & was struck into turning for home & nursed to the line again after pulling the jockey's arms out.now having fully recovered from her setback & on her fifth career start she will know far more about the game & is taken to get her career back on track tomorrow.
2pts. E/W @ 9/1 (stan james)

COOLNAGREE     1.50 DONCASTER (NB)

this 7f intermediate trip is a real "specialist" distance & this filly fits the mould perfectly.im surprised to see her only rated 98 to be honest as she ran a blinder last time out considering she was coming back from a 108 day absence in a very well contested G3 at tipperary.prior to this she was only beaten just over a length by takar,a highly rated filly of the aga khan's (bha rating of 108) in listed company as well as pushing aiden o'briens requisition (rated 105) close at the curragh.this represents some of the best 7f form from over the water & this filly can take this prize & improve her broodmare value with this valuable black type under her belt.
2pts. E/W @ 10/1 (paddy power)

0.5pt WIN double

well after our bets today our "mythical" bank stands at 83.5 pts.
take away 8.5pts. for tomorrow's stakes & that leaves us with a balance of 75pts. hopefully we can surge back in front tomorrow & i'll be back here tomorrow evening to let you all know how we've got on :-) once again i would like to thank you for reading my blog & sharing my thoughts on tomorrow's racing.i must admit i find putting my thoughts out there for the world to read quite theraputic at the end of a stressful day as i sit here with quite a large glass of merlot!! :-) any comments you have on my blog would be gratefully recieved & re-tweet's also but as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & best wishes from #teamchoochoo.

12/9/2012

Evening sportsfans!!! as always a quick word on today.....DIRE!
i hold my hands up & i got it wrong,as regular followers will know im not one to bemoan bad luck & will never try & make excuses when there aren't any,the one thing you will get from this blog is honesty & today quite simply wasn't good enough.so we move onto tomorrow & it see's the start of the donny leger festival!! yippeee and i think ive found a couple of gems to boot! so here goes...

tomorrow's BACK selections...

GOLD CITY 4.45 DONCASTER (NAP)

this is a very lightly raced son of pivotal who has very progressive form after only seven starts in his career.he kicked off winning a couple of mickey mouse races but was then stepped up to listed company in the ripon 2-y-o trophy finishing half a length behind gerfalcon (rated 95) then bettering that effort finishing within a length of eureka (rated 102) here at donny, back in third that day was artistic jewel (rated 102) & in fourth was foxtrot romeo (rated 114) giving the form a rock solid look.he rounded up his juvenile campaign with a highly credable sixth in the redcar 2-y-o trophy,a race that has thrown up a host of winners.his 3-y-o campaign got off to a sticky start, again here at donny, where a combination of the trip, ground & fitness found him out on the day.he then had a 78 day absence to overcome when he was last seen at newmarket & was bang there a furlong out only to run out of gas.he was well backed that day & also he's had two lengthy absence's to overcome, yet he still has his bollox?? which tells me godolphin are in no rush to whip them off as they know they've not got to the bottom of this one & could well turn out to be a group performer.he re-appeared over 6f lto,a trip at which he won over @ two so this extra furlong should be right up his street tomorrow & he does like it here.all told this horse has a very progressive profile & is taken to win this tomorrow off a mark of 96 on his way to better things.
3pts. E/W @ 14/1 (widely available)

NOODLES BLUEBOY 5.15 DONCASTER (NB)

our second & final selection goes in the lucky last & off a mark of 85 can get back to winning ways.he also gets a crucial bit of respite in the class area as he's dropped into a C4,again,for the first time since his last victory.winning jockey jacob butterfield takes back over the reigns & is a massive bonus claiming an extra seven off his back,im dubious of some apprentice's as i couldnt back them if they were claiming 77lb never mind 7!!! but make no mistake this boy can ride & is well worth his claim.he was running exceptionally well prior to his newcastle victory & the step up in grade found him out.back in his grade & on his ground he should run a big race for followers tomorrow.
1pt. E/W @ 20/1 (ladbrokes)

1pt. E/W double

so thats a 10pt stake tomorrow in total, following today's disaster that leave's us with an overnight balance of 70pts. on our mithycle bank :-( once again many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on tomorrow's racing & as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money.

Monday 10 September 2012

11/9/2012

Evening groovers!!! :-) well dickie hughes pulled us out the proverbial today gang!! we had to wait til the final selection but we boosted into profit & thats what its all about.i think there has been some confusion over my staking plan, today we had a 10pt.bet & a 5pt.bet as they where how i viewed the two selections.the 10pt. selection being the nap etc. however i think some people have taken this as the 10pt. bet to be something very special.ive been judging it as a day rather than long term so from now on we'll start with a fictional betting bank of 100pts. & we'll put up advised bets & staking plan & follow it that way if thats ok,so here goes...

tomorrow's BACK selections...

COMMON TOUCH 4.50 LEICESTER (NAP)

richard fahey's gelding comes here on mark of 88 after winning a C4 newmarket h'cap off 85 nearly 4 weeks ago.he has already shown he's upto winning off his new mark when taking a very competitive york h'cap last may.however it's only now that he's been given some respite as he's been competing in some very hot h'caps in the mean time & has more than enough class for this step back into a C3 tomorrow.you can scrub all his runs over a mile as he doesnt stay & all his win & placed form is over tomorrow's trip.
paul hanigan makes the trip upto the east midlands to partner the gelding & all looks set for a massive run.
4pts. win @ 7/2 (boylesports)

TOBY TILER 3.30 REDCAR (NB)

last years winner gets in here off the same mark & is taken to win this now he's back in the right grade.since his victory last year he's only had two runs in C5 company, winning off a mark of 75 at newcastle and then just failing off 71 at pontefract, proving that in the right grade,he's a very serious animal.he proves he handles tomorrows surface when third at ponte & is an excellent e/w bet.
2pts. e/w @ 16/1 (paddy power)

KIWI BAY 4.00 REDCAR

michael dods' c&d winner is our third & final selection as having dropped a pound in the h'cap sneaks into this C4 race & thats enough to tip the scales of justice in his favour.it was only in june this year he was winning a C3 off this mark & whilst he does seem to go well on ground with some cut,he has won on tomorrows forecast going.tom eaves is a very under rated jockey that gets the job done with the minimal amount of fuss & he can bring home the bacon on this one.
2pts. e/w @ 15/2 (paddy power)

1pt. e/w trixie

so thats a total of 20 pts staked on tomorrow's selections leaving us with a bank of 80 points.i will record results & give you an updated balance every evening & let you know how were getting on.as always many thanks for reading my blog & sharing my thoughts on tomorrows action & good luck with whatever you decide for your money.

Sunday 9 September 2012

10/9/2012

well i find myself in somewhat unfamiliar territory.... so here goes...
EVENING SPORTSFANS!! yes the blog will now go live every evening before 10pm with all my thoughts on tomorrows racing.
i have taken this decision after feedback recieved from followers & this will also enable you to obtain the best possible price on selections for the following day.firstly a quick word on today's selections, the NAP was withdrawn due to the ground which only left a small e/w bet,ran a respectable enough race finishing sixth after cruising up behind the favourite two out but then ran out of steam in the final furlong, wasn't given the greatest ride in history in all fairness but we'll soldier on regardless,so onto tomorrow...

tomorrow's BACK selections...

ALMOST GEMINI 3.00 NEWCASTLE

now i want you to take a long hard look at this horse ladies & gentlemen....cos' you will NEVER see a better bred horse running off 56 in a C6 h'cap in your lives!! he's a dylan thomas half brother to the seriously smart godolphin stayer lost in the moment, who strangely enough had 3 starts over inadequate trips & then won a h'cap on his 4th attempt & then improved leaps & bounds to progress into a top class stayer.he's had his mandatory three runs to qualify for h'caps in 10f maidens where to say he was tenderly handled has to be an understatement & his handler roger varian is a past master at the h'cap "cheat" mark game.jamie spencer makes the journey upto newcastle to partner the mrs fitri hay owned gelding as part of his contractual duties for the owner.dont worry about the recent absence as he's just been gelded which is another box to tick.if breeding means ANYTHING at all this will take this with the minimum amount of fuss on the way to better things.maximum confidence carried by this one.
10pts. win @ 3/1 (with bet365,get on as early as poss.)

BRIEF CHAT 2.20 BATH

this one is another from a powerful owner,a home bred juddmonte filly by american sire pleasant tap.again has had the mandatory three runs to qualify for h'caping & was given a tender ride on her return to action this year finishing 12l adrift of tomorrow's rival gold show.however that was gold show's fifth run of the season & it was only our first & only the third of her career.she didnt appear to last home over the extended 9f trip that day even tho she was left to her own devices when her chance had gone & todays trip & forecast quick ground will be right up her street.getting in here off a mark of a very lenient 68 she looks ripe for a big run on her h'cap debut.
5pts. e/w @ 7/1 (with ladbrokes, snap up the price as it wont last!)

NO SUCH NUMBER 5.20 BATH

another one who's had the mandatory three runs to qualify for handicaps & if you were setting up a "coup" then you couldnt have found a weaker race.he was only a neck behind a 75 rated rival on his final start in ireland giving the form a rock solid look.he gets in here off 70 & that h'cap mark wont last for long thats for sure as they have canilly put this half brother to address unknown (winner over 16f) over a trip for the first time & this gelded son of a saddlers wells mare will relish every step.richard hughes gets the leg up for his debut on this side of the sea which is a massive plus.
expect this one to take this in his stride on the way to better things.
5pts. win @ 5/1 (bet 365,get on early as this wont last either!)

3 x 1pt win doubles
1pt. e/w treble

so thats a total of 30 pts. staked on tomorrow's racing,i'll be back tomorrow night to let you know how we've got on & hopefully how much in front we are!! :-)
now i started to tell you a bit about myself earlier in the week & now ive got the selections out the way i'll bring you upto speed!
after relinquishing control of my business in 2002 i decided to embark on being a "full-time professional gambler" ten years later im still going strong & have a very nice lifestyle to boot,im not telling you this to make out im the worlds greatest tipster as im most certainly not, horses will always make an ass out of you,but as long as you make an ass out of the horse more often your going the right way!! :-) i do not & never will charge for my blog as they are my personal views & i make more than enough money backing my selections.im sorry but if you pay a tipster thats just downright LAZY as theres absolutly NOTHING in the form book that you cannot see for yourself & whilst people are daft enough to pay...people will be greedy enough to charge, make no mistake about that.i have also had various daliances into race horse ownership,my first being a 55,000 guineas unnamed & unraced saddlers wells mare that would probably be just about coming to herself now at the age of 13 as she was that backward!! we never even got to name the bloody thing & she was that backward she'd catch herself coming back on the gallops, she went off to the sales & fetched £12,000 in the end & it was a hard lesson learnt! i will carry on at later date as im sure ive bored you all enough by now,as always many thanks for reading my blog & sharing my thoughts on tomorrows racing.

Saturday 8 September 2012

9/9/2012

morning gang...or should i say mourning?? cos thats what it feels like not having a winner for two days! as always i'm not one to bemoan bad luck & we'll take it on the chin & move on,pride dented, but onwards we march!! the two races that we played on yesterday turned out to be the two roughest races of the day & when you get trouble in running at ascot it's game over to be fair.
so onto today's selections..

today's BACK selections...

PENITENT 3.20 CURRAGH               *NON-RUNNER*

our first selection takes us across the sea to the curragh where david o'meras stable star looks a very good thing in waiting.three runs back he absolutly trounced today's favourite, famous name, nearly 10L at sandown park in the bet365 mile & then went onto run a blinder in a french G1 behind golden lilac & cirrus d'es aigles to name a few before returning to leopardstown after a short break finishing a very creditable fifth in a G3 which was an excellent run as the race conditions meant he had to give lumps off weight away all round.i know the ground was heavy at sandown but i think the main reason for slamming famous name is that dermot welds stalwart really doesn't travel well & is yet to win outside his native ireland.however, looking at his runs since sandown i am quite confident he can confirm the form with famous name & at a decent price represents monumental e/w value.
5pts. e/w @ 8/1

SHAMDARLEY 3.30 YORK

now this really does look like its been sent from the gods today!!
comes here on a pound lower mark than when scoring at the end of last season here at york.LTO at wolverhampton he got stuck out wide & had no run whatsoever & prior to that he has been running creditably this season off marks in the 80's in better races than he runs in today.he'll relish the ground & does likes it here.this is his level & can go in at a nice price.
3pts. e/w @ 16/1

2pt. e/w double

well thats 20 pts. staked so lets see if we can get the ball rolling today & surge into profit!! as always many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing & good luck with whatever you decide today.

ian

8/9/2012

morning team.... well the flags are being flown at half mast today...
one word on yesterday...CRAP! and that really is the end of it,ive
been scratching my head all night looking back on yesterdays results but sometimes horses make fools of us,it wasn't the first time it's happened & i'm sure it wont be the last, the fact that we've got a notebook horse running thats chucked in off bottom weight today has helped ease the blow!! so onto today's pearls of wisdom...

CASTILO DEL DIABLO 4.15 ASCOT

i keep hearing people saying "there's a group horse masquerading in a h'cap on saturday" well i agree...but it's not gospel choir, this son of teofilo comes here with just a maiden victory to his name but dont let that put you off as this beast will be powering on when others have cried more than enough,he has a stamina laden pedigree being by a giant's causeway mare & can grind these into submission today,he will get further than todays trip in time  & could turn out to be a decent cup horse next season.so lets split his form down to the bare bones, that newmarket maiden is proving to be a very hot affair, throwing up some nice winners, that was his first try over 12f & he has a massive stride that just eats up the ground and the further he went the better he got that day,the runner up has since come out & won,the horse that was slammed 9L in fifth & also rec. 5lb finished fourth off 85 in a C2 h'cap prior to that & was eased when his chance had gone, back in sixth, beaten over 10L was the beast of sir henry's that came out & won on thursday slamming a 79 rated rival in the process...then back in seventh (hammered 10L+) was a sir michael stoute animal that has since come out & won his maiden rated 87 & none of these could even get close to our lad who to my amazement is absolutly thrown in here off 81 on his h'cap debut,ok its a massive step up in grade but as my late grandfather always used to say..."weight stops trains lad,so im damn sure it can stop a ruddy horse!" he was very green throughout at newmarket & pulled paul hanigan's arms out for the first 3 furlongs but still couldn't find any cover so to win how he did was even more impressive.i am taking this to eradicate yesterday's losses & get us back on track.
5pts. e/w @ 16/1

SMARTY SOCKS 3.45 ASCOT

last years winner comes here on the back of a very respectable fourth LTO in the city of york stakes, his h'cap mark took a battering after winning this last year & rocketed into the 100's meaning he was forced into a lot of conditions/listed races but still performed with distinction, most notably behind red jazz in a listed contest up at haydock but manages to slip back in here on his last winning mark of 95.he won a nice little conditions race up at york at the end of may which proves he still retains his ability at the age of eight & looks a solid e/w bet today.
4pts. e/w @ 10/1

1pt. e/w double

ok so thats a total of 20 pts. staked, lets see how we get on!! i thought i might take this opportunity to introduce myself to you a bit more,as at the minute im just a name on a piece of paper to many of you.as many of you may well have guessed my name's Ian Mallard & im a 38-y-o b/br gelding that lives in leicester.ive been interested in horse racing from a very young age & used to travel to the races with my late grandfather during my early days.i always knew what i wanted to do but had to raise the funds to do it as i come from a working class background.so at the age of 19 i started my own business "office care" was born.before i knew it i was getting more & more busy with work which was leaving me no time at all for my form study & frequently found myself studying form at 3.00am with a six o'clock start in the morning.owing to this i sold my controlling interest in the company back in 2002 to concentrate on my secondary income & it has blossomed ever since.i will continue with this as we go on but i dont want to bore you all at once!!! :-) once again many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing & as always good luck with whatever you decide today.

7/9/2012

morning sportsfans!!! as always a quick word on yesterday...i really could sit here allday bemoaning our bad luck but it wont change anything, our tip got hammered at every opportunity before running on strongly for 2nd to land the place money...but the worst was yet to come...artisan was pulled out to make a his challenge & bizarrley the jockey then dropped his hands!! the only thing i can think is he must of misjudged the distance of the race, which is scant consolation to followers & he only just held on for second.the bright side was the points system i've implemented showed a little profit on its first day (+5pts).but enough of the past & onto the future & i think ive found a few diamonds in the rough today so here goes..

todays BACK selections...

PERFECT BLOSSOM 2.30 HAYDOCK
this mare takes a serious drop in class today and
should reward followers at a nice price, she comes here
on a mark amazingly only 2lb higher than when taking a goodwood
h'cap off 78,completing a nap hand in the progress but her h'cap mark then rocketed into the 90's & as a result was campaigned in some very good races including the skybet sprint at york & the dash at epsom.dale swift takes off a valuable 3lb bringing his mark technically to 77...and she really could pick these up & carry them
if shes only 80% today & carries maximum confidence.
5pts e/w @ 8/1

SUN RAIDER 4.10 HAYDOCK
this one went into my notebook lto as he seemed to get unbalanced at a crucial stage of the race & comes here very dangerously h'capped on a 6lb lower mark than his last winning mark of 89 over c&d back in june '10 & for a 5-y-o he's relativly lightly raced tbh.he does like a bit of cut but is equally at home on a decent surface & was only 3L behind farlow at the death lto which was his best run to date for this yard.they have given him time to settle in & get used to his new surroundings & the patience can pay off today.
2pts e/w @ 14/1

PHLUKE 5.55 BRIGHTON
this one will need no introduction to most of you & comes here on a pound lower mark than when winning here just over a year ago.this
is his level nowadays & his track knowledge will stand him in good stead here.i think he's got his own idea's about the game & has probably forgot more than his young jockey knows, however, his brighton record over 7f+ reads.. 2-1-2-2-3-3-1-2-3-1-3-5!! now are you taking notice!! :-) he loves to hear his hooves rattle as well so he's got optimum conditions today for the first time in a long time & at double figure odds could be a gift from above!
2pts e/w @16/1

for our points staking system i will be doing these in a 1pt. e/w trixie as well.so today's total points staked is 26,lets see how we get on!! once again many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing ahead & as always good luck with whatever you decide as your investments for the day.

6/9/2012

morning all!! we have to start with a quick word on yesterday...
bitterly disappointing, red bay now has the look of a horse that hasn't trained on at all, sometimes you have to give horses a chance to repay faith showed in them, not this one, scrub it off any list you've got it in & i wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up in a seller/claimer next time out.the nap didnt fair any better, even jesus wasnt't right every time!!so onto today...ive decided to change things around a little today following feedback from followers,i will be listing the selections & also putting a staking plan with them... so at the end of the day we'll have a profit/loss to a points stake so here goes....

todays BACK selections...

qushci                              4.40 haydock

right then then this filly comes here only 2lbs higher than her last winning mark of 89,but crack irish apprentice michael murphy takes off a valuable 7lb & can tip the balance in her favour.shes had 7 runs since that newmarket win & there have been feesable excuses ever since, her h'cap mark rocketed to the late 90's after that victory so h'caps were off the menu for a while & was punted in listed class until last time when beaten a neck off 88 in a newmarket h'cap, shes been put up 3lb for that effort but murphys claim will be invaluable today, she'll bounce off this ground & has optimum conditions today so im expecting a massive run.
5pts e/w @ 8/1

valencha                          3.45 salisbury

now this race is a C2 in name only,a very weak affair for the grade imo and represents a serious drop in class for this mare & there are feesable excuses for her last three runs, whilst she does go on a softer surface shes far more at home on top of the ground & also has a course victory to her name which is a big advantage, jimmy fortune is an excellent jockey round here & she represents massive value at 16/1 freely available.
3pts e/w @ 16/1

artisan                             5.10 haydock

now this could be a typical brian ellison "cheat horse" thats now 5lb below his winning a/w mark of 65,still relativly unexposed this one could still have improvement in him.it was reported as having breathing troubles earlier this season & the addition of the tongue tie today could be a master stroke.clearly doesnt stay 16f & will be far more at home over todays 12f trip.
2pts e/w @10/1

so we have a total stake of 20pts....lets see how we end up at the end of the day!! :-) many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing,i have to say thankyou for all the positive feedback ive recieved recently, when you do this for a living locking yourself away in the study for 8-10 hrs a day can get quite lonely sometimes so many thanks & its nice to feel appreciated,as always good luck with whatever you decide for your money today & best wishes.

5/9/2012

morning sportsfans!!! another great day on the blog yesterday supplying a 7/1 winner @ sp...the nap failed to set the world alite but did show up for a long way from an awful draw,he's definatly one to keep an eye on at musselburgh in the future.not one to walow in our success lets blast straight into todays cards...now i have to be honest & ive put a line thro lingfield & bath as they were truly awful in my eyes...so its off to kempton for todays selections....

today's BACK selections are...

the new black                    9.00 kempton

well i did that much digging on this one i thought i'd end up in australia at one stage!!lol this one comes here on a pound lower mark than when she won at brighton and ran an excellent
race in defeat here at kempton when only 3L behind bint alzain off a mark of 67....at first glance she
seems in with an average shout...now let me hit you with the sucker punch....she's only ever raced as far as 8f, and to be fair has performed with credit, which is amazing as she's by a kahyasi mare packed full of stamina, her half sibblings include big eared fran (2m 4f hurdle winner) spifer (beaten a s.h. in a 1m 4f heritage h'cap at ascot off 88) and spieta (once raced maide trained by luca cumani who fetched 65,000 as a yearling) today she goes into unknown territory over 13f & watch her bloom, anything shes done upto now has to be treated as a bonus on her pedigree as there a late maturing family so on her 11th run she'll just be coming to herself, maximum confidence is carried today.

red bay                             7.30 kempton

now this was a bit of a conundrum but red bay will carry our cash, back onto his last winning mark of 73 comes here with a cracking e/w shout in the context of his 4l defeat by galician (rated 91) last year,he then went on to win his nursery here at kempton, this season he's been quite highly tried in a couple of C4 h'caps but back in his grade today can show them a clean pair of heels & get his 3-y-o career back on track.

i have to say many thanks for your kind words recently regarding my blog as it seems to be proving quite popular looking at the amount of traffic going thro it!! there are still the odd fraction that just want to have a dig but if they dont have anything better to do with there lives then carry on!! :-) if theres anything you'd like to ask me regarding my selections feel free to ask at anytime,i will always give you my honest opinion,in fact even if you would like my opinion on your selections i would be more than happy to share my views.
i have to be honest, whilst i try to make my blog as intersting as possible it is a bit dull...if anyone has any ideas how i can "jazz it up" a bit they would be gratefully recieved....in the meantime many thanks on sharing my thoughts on todays racing & good luck with whatever you decide today.

4/9/2012

well we can quite easily put a line thro yesterday, awful days racing that should of been scrubbed from the outset.we'll move swiftly on to today then & this is a first for the blog,im very excited about today & have about six horses on my short list so im gonna to do it on a points basis...ten points being the nap & so on...

todays BACK selections...

lees anthem                 5.35 musselburg (5pts e/w)

now we had to do some digging to find this but think we could of unearthed a gem!!
hes back on his last winning mark off 52 (granted that was in 2010) over C&D
and ran with great credit off a pound higher mark in may this year & clearly loves it here.
back on his favoured ground & trip hes a serious contender here @ a potentially massive price.
he also has the hood on for the first time today which is a massive bonus & tells me
the yard means business.

rumh                           4.40 goowood (3pts e/w)

she was third LTO over an inadequate 9F in a listed event which was a cracking effort for this
daughter of monsun who will relish every yard of this 16F trip today, scooted home over this
trip @ kempton by 7L & expect much of the same today now shes back on the same mark
here, having performed in all the right races last year she was behind the likes of blue bunting, banimpire
& masked marvel in the st. leger no less.(altho beaten a fair way) and has some serious back class.
if you back on the place markets only this has to be a ten star nap for that.

light from mars            2.30 leicester (2pts e/w)

this one needs no introduction for most of you and comes here on a career low mark.
it was only last april he was lifting the spring cup @ newbury,he did finish 2nd three runs
back on unsuitably soft ground so does retain some ability & this is a typical horse
that will go in when you havent got a shilling on it!!lol however im tempted to him
today as hes been looking a bit like a petulant schoolboy so the introduction of
first time cheekpieces could just be whats required to sharpen him up.

many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing.
ive been accused of being "secretive" with my tweeting, not really sure what they mean by this
but as its a constructive criticism i'll try & rectify it.twitter is an integral tool for any professional gambler
and very much so for me,going reports especially have been very wayward with the summer of
rain we've had & the "twitterati" is a much better source of solid going descriptions, the scottish tracks are covered by @bigtamthebam_12,the north west by @glennphil2010 & @yorkycourse & the southern areas by @badgerracing77.just a simple tweet to these guys will give you a far better going description than
any newspaper and they are all approachable guys with a keen interest in racing.anyway onto the "secretive"
tweets, the problem on twitter is that with only 140 characters to play with you have to shorten & abbreviate alot of words & thats simply all i do,looking in from the outside i realise this looks like some kind of morse code sometimes but it really isnt...should i tweet something that you cant workout all i can say is simply ask...i dont bite & will always respond!! well thats me done for today & hopefully at teatime i'll be sitting on my balcony with a large cigar.....well thats the plan anyway!! :-) as always good luck with whatever you decide today for your money & best wishes.

3/9/2012

morning followers...not the greatest day yesterday, haadeeth landed the place money but that was about as good as it got to be honest...so swiftly onto today...

todays BACK selections are...

steel rain                            4.20 ffos las (NAP)

just the one selection today on what is a pretty poor day in the uk for racing today.
he comes here after having a couple of warm up spins (this is the norm for this gelding)
and should be ready to strike,he's now only a pound higher than his last win, here at ffos las
over c&d.the form of his win here is very solid with the third placed horse coming
out & winning off 76 on monday,in the context of this race thats serious form.
off his previous mark of 59 the handicapper had him in his grip....but now hes been dropped
a few pounds should be able to get competitive again.
many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing,
i do not charge for the information on here & feel strongly when people try & use the
information on here to sell on....you will be blocked & deleted...you have been warned.
good luck with whatever you decide today.

Sunday 2 September 2012

2/9/2012

morning #teamchoochoo!!!!!! another massive priced winner bolts in for the blog yesterday, however our nap was most disappointing,it has since been revealed she has had a pricked foot & returned to james fanshawes with her hoof three times the size, kieran fallon reported she never travelled at all & we wish her a speedy recovery.onto today then...

todays BACK selections...

estrela                       5.00 folkestone (NAP)
haadeeth                   3.30 folkestone  (NB)

we'll break with tradition & kick off with the NB today & its our old friend haadeeth, put up earlier this week by the blog he got caught out wide with no cover & wasnt overly knocked about, the mere fact he's out again so quickly tells you all you need to know & with SDS on top im looking for a massive run today.a wide draw could work to his benefit today, this will enable silvester the cat to drop him in & get some cover for a late swoop, now when he ran LTO the ground was described as "good" now if that was good ground at lingfield im the pope,he wants it as quick as you like so keep an eye on the early races.
so onto todays nap, estrela, goes in the lucky last & should be well worth waiting for.
back in may she finished third in the lingfield oaks trial, altho beaten 8L she was heavily eased when her chance of winning had gone & since has been dropped in trip which is very strange as shes by authorized so this extra two furlongs today will be just what the doctor ordered.after the oaks trial she was again quite highly tried in a listed event behind coquet (rated 107) then was not disgraced behind yesterdays scorer dank at ascot, she has been dropped 5lbs since her last run & gets in here off 85,with james doyle taking over the reigns today she looks well worth our NAP in the lowest grade race shes competed in.
i'll be backing these e/w & in an e/w double, but as always good luck with whatever you decide today
and many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing.
