30/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well after a day off to recharge the batteries we're back & hopefully with a bang! :-) hopefully we can find a few winners after a couple of days pounding the woodwork with place after place & it looks a cracking midweek card to be fair.

2pts win MISHRIF 7.00 kempton (nap) 9/2 bet365

John Jenkins veteran ran back into some kind of form last time out & is well worth sticking with as the handicapper has left him alone. all to often horses are raised for getting placed & is it any wonder that trainers have to play around at different trips etc. to work a horses handicap mark down. Richard Hughes should be able to pop him out handy & ride them to sleep on the front end.

2pts STIPULATE 3.00 ascot (nb) 7/2 skybet

Henry Cecil's charge has been a model of consistency & can take this decent prize. since his win in a listed event he has had seven out of his eight last runs at group level so this contest is a welcome drop in grade to be honest. he's far happier with some give underfoot so his comeback run on quick ground was far from a disappointment & the opposition have questions to answer.

2pts win ESTIMATE 3.35 ascot 3/1 william hill

again not the most original selection but her two placed efforts behind wild coco represents some of the best form on offer from the fairer sex last year. she could well turn into a high class stayer this year & this really isn't the strongest group 3 ever to be run.

1pt win trixie

an excellent days racing tomorrow with three pattern races taking place at ascot & a solid card at pontefract the highlights. this week see's us into guineas weekend & no doubt the dogs will be barking & the rumour mill will be in overdrive over the next few days but i think alot hinges on the going this year with ante-post favourite for the 2000 dawn approach not looking like fast ground may be ideal but time will tell.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

28/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well a nice little bet todays turned out to be. the NAP & NB both getting placed @ 13/2 & 18/1 respectivly then add to that western gales place @ 33/1 & it was half decent, sods law though its the two shortest priced selections that let us down but a profitable day none the less. hopefully we can find some value tomorrow & keep the mini revival going...

2pts e/w PRINCE OF PASSION 1.50 wolves (nap) 8/1 bet365

derek shaws gelding gets a nice weight pull with the favourite on there running last time out but more importantly he should be able to get an easy lead here with no other obvious pace in the race & that suits him just fine..get out, make all, job done. #next

1pt e/w GLENRIDDING 2.20 wolves (nb) 14/1 bet365

this lads starting to look very well handicapped & whilst hes not won for a while this is by far the worse race he has contested during his career & he might well have tumbled to a winnable mark now.

windsor & lingfield selections will be added tomorrow morning..

many thanks for following..

27/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! poor effort today if i'm honest.. fitness being an issue with alot of things this time of year but thats no excuse as its all there in the formbook. with no flat meetings to go at tomorrow i thought i'd have a little look at the jumps & see if i can find any value that may be lurking so i've gone for a small stakes each way lucky 31 as our advised bet for a bit of interest.

BUCK MULLIGAN 3.45 ludlow (nap) 13/2 coral

gets a handy weight pull with cooteshill on there run last time & can turn the tables tomorrow.

JUNIOR 5.05 huntingdon (nb) 12/1 bet365

the old boys only a pound above his last winning mark & takes a steep drop in grade after contesting races like the king george & denman chase this season.hes best when bossing inferior animals and he might just get things his own way out in front tomorrow.

SEE YOU JACK 2.50 huntingdon 4/1 bet365

ran well in alot better race than this last time & the first time headgear can work the oracle tomorrow.

GLOBAL FLYER 5.35 huntingdon 7/2 bet365

hes now a staggering 18lb below his last winning mark over C&D less than a year ago & hes also been sporting cheekpieces of late. tomorrow he switches to blinkers & he won in them at the first time of asking so they should sharpen him up enough to get his head back in front here.

WESTERN GALE 3.35 wetherby 33/1 ladbrokes

this veteran wasn't travelling that badly when coming to grief behind blazing bull on his belated re-appearance last term. he'll appreciate the better surface & is on a winning mark...

just a small stakes each-way lucky 31 is the advised bet although i may have an each way single bet on junior as he seems great value to me to be honest.

many thanks for following & good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

26/4/2014

Evening sportsfans!! well not to bad today the NB getting placed @ a tasty 20/1 & we also found a nice 12/1 place to go with it to show us a decent profit on the day to advised bets. lets hope we can hit the bullseye tomorrow..

2pts e/w BANCNUANAHEIRANN 2.20 ripon (nap) 14/1 bet365

2pts win THOMAS CHIPPENDALE 3.15 sandown (nb) 4/1 bet365

RANJAAN 2.05 sandown 12/1 bet365

24/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well we certainly didn't cover ourselves in glory today & it was back to earth with a bang i'm afraid. hopefully tomorrow can see a return to winning ways. this time of year we do have to take a gamble some what on the fitness of alot of animals but i think i might of found some real value tomorrow..

1pt e/w ONE OF TWINS 5.00 wolves (nap) 20/1 bet365

mick easterbys gelding comes here on his last winning mark over C&D and is massive value here.

1pt e/w ONELADYOWNER 6.20 newcastle (nb) 16/1 bet365

the Brown stable have had 5 winners & 4 placed from there last 12 runners & the stable cat would be in with a shout if they ran it.he comes here on his last winning mark & more importantly gets his ground as well.

1pt e/w VALANTINO OYSTER 7.20 newcastle 20/1 bet365

Tracy waggot is another trainer who has her team in tip top form with there last 10 runners yielding no less than 5 winners & 2 runners up spots.back on his favoured surface he has three times in the past won off this mark of 58.

1pt e/w HAIL BOLD CHIEF 7.50 newcastle 12/1 bet365

another yard thats firing on all cylinders is the swinbank team with there last 30 runners yielding 10 winners & 12 places.this lad comes here on a decent mark & can hopefully complete a wheebarrow job day for us!!

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

well if this lands i'll be off to the bahamas tomorrow evening i reckon!! i'm astounded at the prices of a couple of these at least & i think the bookies haven't taken into account the recent change in the going by the looks of things.those that follow would be well advised to take the early prices to be honest.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow. :-) regards

23/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! sometimes when you recieve a bit of criticism something triggers inside...and you come out all guns blazing!! like an old fashioned gun slinger strolling into town we came out firing from the hip today with the 16/1 NB going in followed up with a very nice 4/1 winner...and only a very dubious ride from T P Queally cost us a massive each way return on our advised bet. now i've got the bit between my teeth its time to really put the enemy to the sword...

3pts win VIKING WARRIOR 1.35 catterick (nap) 9/2 bet365

in footballing terms this is as near to a "home game" as you can get.
two course victories & five places to his name he knows this place like the back of his hoof.his record over C&D in the class 6 races reads 2-3-1.. his overall record over C&D reads.. 2-3-1-2-3-2-1-4-5
he's been a model of concistency & the michael dods team have also had a couple of nice winners recently.he now comes here 2lb below his last winning mark & young connor beasleys claim is an added bonus.with ground conditions to suit he's a confident nap tomorrow.

1.5pts e/w INGLEBY STAR 2.05 catterick (nb) 14/1 bet365

this is another who looks very well in to me..now your going to have to bare with me whilst i explain this.. he won a 0-75 carrying 8-11 minus a 3lb claim (so 8-8 basically) he goes here tomorrow in a 0-70 carrying 9-3 less a 5lb claim (so 8-12 basically) so allowing for the 5lb differentiation in the weights he actually goes here off a pound lower mark than his last winning one in september.at first sight he looks like he's a pound higher still but luke mcniffs 5lb claim swings it back in his favour.if i've got my maths right & this comes off believe me i'll be lighting a fat cigar tomorrow evening!!

1pts e/w SWISS CROSS 2.20 epsom 8/1 william hill

now this race took me a while to blog as running here is my old friend sacrosanctus who i napped last time out @ 8/1 & it wasn't easy deserting him but its not really his grade or trip tomorrow & maybe the old boy needs to drop a few pounds as well to be honest.
on the other hand this lad is fighting fit & comes here in good heart.
more importantly he loves it here at what is a very quirky track & his course record reads 1-4-2-4.personally i think his last half dozen runs have been to work his mark down as he was stuck in no mans land handicap wise but he now comes here on the same mark as when just touched off by york glory at the end of last year which is very smart form & a repeat would be more than good enough to win this.

0.5pt e/w trixie

well after a cracking day today we now have to keep it going & show the bookmakers no mercy!! :-) many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money & happy punting!! :-)

22/4/2013

Morning sportsfans!! well we got off the cold list so to speak with a nice 5/1 winner yesterday. today i have gone for a lucky 15 for followers..

MIAS BOY 4.30 wolves 7/2 stan james

DR RED EYE 5.05 wolves 16/1 skybet (nb)

HAYLAMAN 6.15 yarmouth 15/2 bet365 (nap)

SPIRIT OF THE LAW 7.25 yarmouth 4/1 paddy power

suggested bet is an e/w lucky 15.

many thanks for following.

Sunday 21 April 2013

21/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well after a blank day for flat racing i've spent the day concentrating on tomorrows cards where we have FOUR flat meetings no less..the race planning baffles me at times but there you go.hopefully we can get a few nice price winners..

2pt e/w PICENO 4.40 PONTEFRACT (9/1 bet365) (nap)

finally the handicappers given this lad a bit of respite & this shrewd yard have also put 3lb claimer billy cray on board & he can make the difference.he ran a pearler last time out when fourth behind dolphin rock & gets a handy tug in the weights with that one here. alot of his rivals here are coming back from lay offs & his fitness edge will also be invaluable.

1pt e/w COLONEL MAK 3.10 PONTEFRACT (14/1 coral) (nb)

this lads now a very well handicapped horse as hes dropped to his lowest mark since 2010.alot of these sprinters take it in turns winning & it just might be his turn as hes now a pound below his last winning mark which was 98 with a 5lb claim.he hasn't been disgraced recently but hes fell into what i call "the black hole" of handicap marks which is basically between 95-105.there not good enough to win off there marks so they end up in either conditions races or claimers/sellers.he proved he still has an appetite for the game when taking a conditions event at the end of last season & i think his mark may have now slipped enough for him to get competitive in handicaps again.

1pt win GUISING 7.30 WINDSOR (5/1 paddy power)

taking maiden form literally can be perilous at the best of times but this line of form on figures is huge.he gave 20lb & a 7l beating to the mark johnston trained ambleside who has since come out & won a handicap off a mark of 70.he goes here off 78 & could well have a ton in hand off his current mark as his maiden win as easy as you like.he galloped on strongly that day & is from a family that improve with age so he can catch up for lost time here.

1pt win DEMOCRETES 6.30 WINDSOR (6/1 ladbrokes)

quite a trappy little contest this but hannon & hughes on a monday night at windsor are a standing dish to be honest & it would be folly to ignore them.he ran a race full of promise on his return when having a spin round on the a/w recently and i think there could be alot more to come from this lad.

0.1pt e/w yankee (2.2pts in total) (all 4)

hopefully we've found a few tomorrow & we can make hay so to speak.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

19/4/2014

Evening sportsfans!! i think i'm going to get stuck into some shorties for a change as i think theres a few good things going tomorrow. i'm going to throw them into a few multiples & hopefully they'll pay a decent return if they land right..

TAP NIGHT 2.05 AYR 15/8 ladbrokes

COURT MINSTREL 2.40 AYR 4/1 stan james

HIS EXCELLENCY 3.15 AYR 10/1 skybet

1pt win patent

NOBLE MISSION 1.50 NEWBURY (nap) 7/4 william hill

EDUCATE 2.20 NEWBURY 13/2 coral

MOOHAAJIM 3.30 NEWBURY 6/4 bet365

1pt win trixie

i'll be doing the thirsk & nottingham cards in the morning so i will update the blog then with my findings.

Thursday 18 April 2013

18/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well we haven't exactly covered ourselves in glory recently & winners are seriously required.hopefully tomorrow can bring a change in fortune with a couple of tasty priced winners..

2pts e/w TAAJUB 5.15 NEWBURY (nap) 11/1 betvictor

this is a tidy little contest to close the card & this fella looks cracking value to me.quite a few of these jump in & out of pattern races/handicaps & i think theres a very fine line between the two in all fairness.this lads second in the shergar cup proves he can get competitive in handicaps off this mark & he backed that up with a fine third beaten less than a length in a G3 behind swiss spirit and that was after he covered further than anything else after a false start.a recent spin on the a/w will have blown the cobwebs away and he can get #teamchoochoo off to a flyer.

1pt e/w GILDED AGE 4.15 NEWBURY (nb) 14/1 paddypower

last years winner comes back on the same mark & with a bit of luck we'll have the same result.he warmed up for this when taking a handicap hurdle at plumpton to show he's in rude health & i think he could well gallop these into the ground from the front.

you really dont know how glad i am to have the turf flat season back & if i could have one wish it would be that we have a summer
of decent ground as i really dont think i can endure another washout.fortunatly the ground at the craven meeting was half decent & with a bit of luck thats a sign of things to come. many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

Tuesday 16 April 2013

16/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well this is somewhat of an anniversary as this is my 300th blog post!! :-0 so a warm welcome to followers old & new & hopefully we can mark the occasion with a winning nap.

2pts e/w BIRDMAN 3.30 NEWMARKET (nap) 16/1 bet365

this lad to me has the best collateral form in the book for me,simple as that.he was campaigned at group 2 & 1 level last season & to be honest he came up short, but not by far.his second in the superlative stakes behind olympic glory is absolutly standout for me & he backed it up with solid if not spectacular performances afterwards culminating behind kingsbarns in the racing post trophy.all his best form last season was in the early part which is a good sign & hes also versatile as far as the ground goes & i'm expecting a big run tomorrow.

2pts e/w NARGYS 4.05 NEWMARKET (nb) 6/1 williamhill

apart from sky lantern most of these have form on good to quick ground which has to be a worry with the forecast conditions but this lass look well at home on an easy surface & will have gone into many peoples notebooks when looking a very unlucky loser in the G2 rockfel.maybe a bit far to say shes a winner without a penalty but shes not far off in my opinion.

a cracking days racing to be honest & the big guns are slowly but surely getting there teams in order.with sires like galileo, authorized,   dansili, teofilo, street cry & oasis dream all strongly represented in the maidens there could be a few stars of the future on show but at the same time no doubt a fare few bubbles will also be popped. many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money & happy punting!! :-)

Saturday 13 April 2013

13/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! with a lack of any flat action in england i wasn't going to blog this evening but i've found a couple of spare hours so have decided to have a little go at the jumps tomorrow & also see if we can find some value over at leopardstown...

1pt e/w SPARROW HILLS 3.45 WINCANTON (nap) 25/1 bet365

1pt e/w FRENCH TIES 4.40 MARKET RASEN (nb) 7/1 bet365

1pt e/w IDARAH 4.20 WINCANTON s.p.

all three should give a good account of themselves but the nap has had two races here at wincanton..and is unbeaten..25's?? snap it up early folks!! :-)

onto leopardstown & i've targeted three short price lays that i think will get turned over tomorrow.my tactics will be that if all three are beat, call securicor, get two beat, very profitable day,get one beat, depending on which one, slight loss on the day.

THE UNITED STATES 2.35 current price: 7/4

he won on his debut beating dibayani who reopposes here on the same terms but only has a head to find with the o'brien runner.
TUS is a half brother to david wachmans fire lily, all speed.i know the galileo influence will help him stay but he didnt strike me as a miler when i watched the replay to be honest & the stable have reached for the cheekpieces which tells me hes not entirely straight forward in his homework.the halford runner went on to gain valuable experience in two listed contests & might just have a bit to much track craft for his old rival here.

DECLARATION OF WAR 3.05 current price: evens

drops back into listed company after taking a G3 on his final start last year but was getting all the allowances that day.the tables are turned here with him having to carry a group race penalty & having to concede 5lb to recent irish lincoln winner sweet lightening.the key though is tomorrows trip,he was staying on at the end of his 1m2f races last season & i think this mile will be far to sharp for him here & he was beaten on his seasonal appearance last year, over a mile,in a G3,expect more of the same here.

BATTLE OF MARENGO 4.15 current price: 8/13

another o'brien hotpot & yet another that has to carry a penalty now he drops a grade.he won a very weak G2 as a juvenile & is going to pay the price this term i think.hes another by super sire galileo but sooner or later coolmore are going to come unstuck as if they carry on there going to end up with a barn full of galileo sires & a barn full of galileo mares which in breeding terms is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.unless they start branching out into other bloodlines there going to have a serious problem on there hands.they recently purchased most improved who is by lawman so that will help when he goes to stud & also the purchase of excelebration last season gives them the highest rated son of exceed & excel at there disposal.the dansili galileo cross has proved very succesful but i would like to see them going more with the galileo kingmambo cross if i'm honest.back to the race in hand & the bottom horse sugar boy was hugely impressive last time in a listed event, heavily eased & scoring by 6l.the concession of 5lb might just prove beyond the favourite on his seasonal bow as they would leave a bit to work on i would of thought.

bit of a different angle to this evenings blog but if you like what i've written why not give me a retweet!! :-) many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!

Friday 12 April 2013

12/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well this is a bit odd as i dont know how the nap has gone on today as it doesn't run until 7.00 tonight & i've found myself with an hour to spare so i thought i'd get tomorrows blog started..

2pts e/w GEORGE GURU 3.50 KEMPTON (nap) 10/1 bet365

i find the betting on this race a tad odd if im honest as this lad was only three quarters of a length behind solar deity in february round lingfield & hes got a 7lb pull here.that should be enough for him to turn the tables on a course he loves as his record over a mile here at kempton reads.. 5-1-2-2-1-2-4-6-1.he has been a model of consistency this winter & can gain just reward here.

1pt e/w OUR JONATHAN 3.30 DONCASTER (nb) 14/1 skybet

this is another who i think can turn the tables on his victor last time out.he has a length and a half to find with jack dexter on there running in the cammidge a fortnight ago but a handy 9lb pull can see him back in the winners enclosure.hes now dropped to the same mark as when taking the ayr gold cup & proved last time that he can still mix it at a decent level.

i will be adding more selections as i work my way through the cards this evening but i will tweet updates as i do them.

best of luck if you follow..

Thursday 11 April 2013

11/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well bitterly unlucky today if i'm honest, the nap failing by the smallest margin to get up on the line & the nb travelling very strongly all the way round before landing the place money.a day of what could of been rather than what was but not one to rest we'll march onto tomorrow with at least a bit of a spring in our steps as profits what its all about at the end of the day..

4pts win YANKEE STORM 7.00 WOLVES (nap) 9/2 paddypower

when times are tough its always good to turn to an old friend & thats we're doing here.he done us proud when we napped him @ 20/1 back in february & the michael wigham team have been very cunning with the booking of young thomas brown whos 5lb claim will be invaluable here.with his young jocks claim (and hes well worth it believe me) he races here off a 3lb LOWER mark than his last victory and has to be a strong nap here.

2pts e/w PERFECT MISSION 3.00 LINGFIELD (nb) 6/1 pp

the penny has finally dropped with this stable & they send him back over a mile.he wasn't disgraced in a better race than this last time out & has slowly been coming back to himself.young daniel muscatt gets on very well with him & his 7lb claim can tip the balance in his favour here.

2pts e/w TRIPLE DREAM 4.45 LINGFIELD 6/1 bet365

this lads been a model of consistency recently & can gain just reward tomorrow.hes bumped into a couple of well handicapped sorts just lately but i think this can be his day tomorrow.

3pts win RESTLESS BAY 9.00 WOLVES 3/1 bet365

we are in danger of this one becoming a cliff horse but hes been dropped a couple of pound since his last start & also drops into a C6 in which his lifetime record reads.. 1-2-3-1-2-2

still no sign of a turf flat meeting which i have to say is bitterly disappointing but again we can only work with the tools that we're given i'm afraid.hopefully it can see us return to winning ways as whilst its always good to show a profit its winners that we crave!! many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

10/4/2013

Morning sportsfans!! my first thoughts today are what the hell are the race planners doing? three NH meetings & a paltry a/w evening card, considering the flat season is well under way the mind boggles if i'm honest but we can only work with the tools we're given so hopefully we can find a couple of decent things at kempton..

2pts e/w WHERES SUZIE 8.00 KEMPTON (nap) 8/1 coral

1pt e/w SAVANNA DAYS 7.00 KEMPTON (nb) 20/1 willhill

both horses look on decent marks to me & should give us a run for our money.the blog will be back to full service come the weekend when the flat racing resurfaces.best of luck with whatever you decide for your hard earned today..i think you might need it! :-/

Tuesday 9 April 2013

9/4/2013

Evening sportsfans!! a decent days racing awaits us tomorrow with two turf flat meetings accompanied by a couple of a/w cards.here are my thoughts on the day..

CATTERICK

the two races that i'll be getting involved in here are the 4.20 & the 4.50. in the 4.20 i'm going to have a little go at the michael dodds trained VIKING WARRIOR.hes a C&D scorer who comes here on his last winning mark & young connor beasley is well worth his 7lb claim which is another plus.in the 4.50 i'm going nap on the topweight BOLLIN GRETTA.tim easterbys admirable mare has dropped to a tasty mark & is another who has a valuable 7lb taken off by a young apprentice.i have to say i dont know an awful lot about this pilot but the easterbys are no fools & she wouldn't be riding for them if they didn't think she was ready.this is actually a steep drop in grade as well as she was contesting races such as the november handicap & the listed aphrodie stakes last season where she certainly wasn't disgraced & this isn't a strong race at all to be honest.

catterick advised bets:

2pt e/w BOLLIN GRETA 4.50 @ 16/1 bet365 (nap)

2pt e/w VIKING WARRIOR 4.20 @ 5/1 bet365

1pt e/w double

NOTTINGHAM

i tidy little card for midweek at the east midlands venue if i'm honest.the opening maiden doesn't look the greatest contest but the conditions sprint has some smart performers on show.SPIRIT QUARTZ holds market rival HUMIDOR on there running at ascot behind the australian speedball ortensia & i expect them to cross the line in a similiar order tomorrow but wether you want to get involved at the prices is your choice.the listed race named after further flight is where i'll be having my first investment of the afternoon & its on the marcus tregoning trained CAVALEIRO & is my NB bet of the day.to say he was highly tried last year is an understatement as he followed the derby route but after having his sights lowered he ran a cracker behind what is in my opinion one of the best staying prospects for a while in biographer.this trip is exactly what he wants being by derby winner sir percy & i think he'll develop into a very smart stayer this term.TESTOSTERONE hasn't showed anything since her 3-y-o days with pascal barry & he has the beating of SIR GRAHAM WADE on there running behind biographer.

nottingham advised bets:

3pts e/w CAVALEIRO 3.40 @ 6/1 betvictor (nb)

Evening sportsfans!! well now we've got the chaos of the grand national out the way the proper racing can begin! :-) roll on the flat season but considering the new turf season is under way i think the race planners have left alot to be desired with there mapping out of the opening fixtures i must admit.lets see if we can find a couple of nice priced things for tomorrows a/w cards...

2pt e/w SATWA LAIRD 4.50 KEMPTON (nap) 12/1 bet365

this is now a seriously well handicapped horse as it was just over a year ago that he was winning off marks of around a stone higher.this is the weakest race hes ever contested & also defends an unbeaten record in C6 events.

1pt e/w GURU OF GLOOM 3.10 WOLVES (nb) 14/1 ladbrokes

this lads only a pound above his last winning mark & looks to be decent value to me here.his form last time behind ocean legend could well turn out to be the best on offer here & at a tasty price he could well get his head in front in the closing stages & chin this lot.

lets hope we can spring back to life with a couple of decent priced winners tomorrow & get spring off to a flyer!! i will be blogging every evening again now i've finished with the NH scene & hopefully we can have a decent season.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you deceide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!

Evening sportsfans!! well another festival is upon us with aintree kicking off tomorrow & it looks an absolute feast to be honest.i've decided to cover two races from the first day & hopefully we can find some value..

3.05 AINTREE 2m4f hurdle (grade 1)

firstly i have to point out that 99% of horses that run at the cheltenham festival are absolutly trained to the minute then how they come out of that race then depends where they go next, wether it be liverpool, punchestown or are put away for the summer.for a trainer to get his horse to liverpool with the same levels that they ran at cheltenham is a herculian task & many fail to be honest.this i feel may be the case for tomorrows favourite THE NEW ONE.not only will he have to come here bang on his A-game i think he'll have to improve a good 5-6lbs on that run if i'm honest as this race will be a whole different ball game than the novice company he's been contesting & i'll be laying this one heavy.the nicholls team reach for the headgear on zarkander which is never a positive sign for me & on his champion hurdle running he has it to do. countrywide flame i dont think will stay which brings us to the henderson trained GRANDOUET who came down in the champion when travelling ominously well & he must have a live chance with barry geraghty choosing him over dual winner of the race OSCAR WHISKEY who will be far happier back over this trip & is not easily discounted.my play on the race however will be e/w on the mullins raider THOUSAND STARS.you can forget his last run as he clearly wasn't right & he comes into the race a fresh horse after missing cheltenham.his two defeats to hurricane fly now read very well after his stablemate took the champion in such devastating fashion & i feel he may well have been targetted at the race.

LAY: the new one

BACK: thousand stars (e/w)

BACK: r/f/c grandouet/thousand stars

2.30 AINTREE 3m1f chase (grade 1)

a trappy contest with likely favourite SILVINIACO CONTI sure to be all the rage after falling in the gold cup when still in contention but wether he would of won or been placed i very much doubt but thats one of those unanswered questions that we'll never know i'm afraid.FIRST LIEUTENANT comes here on the back of his second in the ryanair at the cheltenham festival but my he did have a hard race that day & hes starting to look a tad one paced at the end of his races to me if i'm honest.that may well turn out to be the best form on offer here though depending on how cue card runs against the so far imperious sprinter scare & flemenstar on friday.last years race threw up a 50/1 shock & it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the same thing happened again as all the principals have to show they've recovered from there cheltenham exertions.the only horse that comes into the race fresh is the irish raider QUITO DE LA ROQUE & hes going to be our play in the race.he was behind WAYWARD PRINCE over C&D in december of last year but was trying to give that one 10lb that day & off levels he can turn the tables.his run in the lexus chase does worry me but it was far to bad to be true & a chance is taken that he'll outstay this lot.

LAY: FIRST LIEUTENANT

BACK: QUITO DE LA ROQUE (e/w)

BACK: r/f/c QUITO DE LA ROQUE/WAYWARD PRINCE

small stakes on the r/f/c's as they should pay handsomely but the lays i'm particularly strong on & they will be my main plays of the day.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

Evening sportsfans!! well we took a punt on a few at fancy prices today & the day was ultimatly disappointing so back to basics tomorrow.. winners!! :-)

3pts win STANDPOINT 4.50 SOUTHWELL (nap) 5/1 paddypower

not the most original selection for tomorrows nap but hes on a winning mark & loves the surface.simple as that really..

2pts e/w PICENO 5.20 SOUTHWELL (nb) 7/1 paddypower

another who loves the fibresand & the handicapper has now relented to drop him to 70 which i think he needed to be honest & he can take full advantage here.

i will add further selections as i go this evening..

2/4/2013

Morning sportsfans!! well my ill fated idea of doing the daily newsletter via e-mail has temporarily hit skid row so to speak so i will blog my selections as in the past.those that follow me on twitter will know how good a time we've been having recently & hopefully the good run can continue.

2pts e/w MAZOVIAN 4.20 SOUTHWELL (nap) 16/1 coral

absolutly loves it here with 4 course victories & 5 places already on his c.v. & is starting to look very well treated.forecast favourite elusive hawk has a 6lb penalty to contend with today & may find it just beyond him.

1pt e/w DEMOISELLE BOND (nb) 33/1 bet365

this one looks massive value as shes now dropped to her last winning mark over this C&D.in between she has also won off 58 at lingfield & they wont beat her up the bend i can assure you & she could well run them ragged from the front.

1pt e/w MAYS BOY 4.30 KEMPTON 25/1 betfred

another who looks very well treated & with the mark usher team in sparkling form she could round off a cracking day for us.

well after the euphoria of yesterday its back to the start again & hopefully we can get out of the blocks pretty sharpish for the month of april.i will be back blogging my selections for the foreseable future & will be doing a full aintree preview on wednesday night for the festival.many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whaever you decide for your money today & happy punting!! :-)
