30/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! we strolled into town like an old style gunslinger shooting from the hip today.. first the NB rocket rob went in advised @ 7/1 closely followed by laffan who obliged at an advised 10/1 then super frannie norton booted home statutory in the last & only miss tiger lily let us down for the full house & a truly wonderful day but alas it wasn't meant to be but as always our target for the month is a triple figure profit to our advised bets & after todays haul we sit on +98pts for the month & with a day to go amazingly we could hit our target!! a nice winner tomorrow would see us smash the triple figure barrier so heres hoping!! :-)

2pts e/w JOE PACKET 2.05 sandown (nap) 9/1 bet365

has slipped back to his last winning mark & whilst that was a while ago the last time he dropped to this mark was when very unlucky behind doctor parkes over C&D in july. he has a win & a place from his two starts here at sandown & looks a solid e/w bet here.

1pt e/w TRADE COMMISS'NER 3.50 sndwn (nb) 11/1 stan james

this is quite a steep drop in grade for john gosdens charge after some creditable efforts in pattern company. hes still pretty unexposed for a 5yo after only 11 lifetime starts & this might just be the confidence booster he needs to kick start his season & with a 100% record here at sandown there would be no better place to start.

2.40 sandown Solario Stakes 7f Group 3

here we go then lets get this kingman beat & load the gun for the snipers who think james doyle shouldn't have been given the juddmonte farms gig. as regular readers will know i'm not interested in hype, gossip, horses that wake up with a hard on etc. etc. what i'm interested in is facts & figures and quite simply these are the facts..ok he was quite impressive winning his maiden & whilst the two that followed him home have both come out & won a maiden they have both been beat stepped up in class, so basically all we know about him at the minute is that hes roughly 7-10lb better than a horse that was beaten 5l in a fillies G3 & quite alot better than a horse that was beaten off a mark of 78. now the winner of that G3 is godolphins ihtimal which puts that one pretty much on a par formwise with this kingman which puts kingmans debut run roughly at around early to mid 90's. now this is only a rating on what he has done so far, not what he could be but the fact that godolphin take him on with two runners must mean they fancy there chances of beating him. music theory slammed a previous winner 9l when stepped up in trip but the one i like is the white cap of emerald flyer. he brings genuine group form to the table & his 2l defeat by the beast that is no nay never is not far off the best 2yo form seen this season after the american machine destroyed a G1 field in france last weekend. by my reckoning kingman has got to run to around 10lb better than he did on his debut..im not saying he cant..but @ 4/9 i'll be happy to lay this all day when basically he has one opponent with a similiar level of form & another with alot better form in my opinion.

LAY: kingman

29/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! nice & refreshed after an easy day so hopefully tomorrow can throw up a few winners for us..

2pts e/w MISS TIGER LILY 4.15 thirsk (nap) 11/2 skybet

its our old friend the 5pt nap & after dropping back into her own age group the last twice she goes against her elders again for the first time since we napped her & over 2m she gets the massive 14lb weight for age allowance & at this stage of the season thats huge, simple as that really. she only needs to put in a run to a mark of around 60 to win this & shes done that on her last four starts with ease & she still may be improving as well.

1pt e/w ROCKET ROB 2.50 sandown (nb) 7/1 paddy power

drops back into C5 company for the first time since his last win & the drop in grade can pay dividends. this multiple C&D winner absolutly loves it here & william buick gets on particularly well with him.

1pt e/w STATUTORY 4.40 chester 6/1 bet victor

another one who can laugh at the BHA's weight for age allowance & being by authorized there could well be alot more to come stepped up in trip. hes the highest rated horse in the race & gets weight from them all.. you gotta love these rules!!

1pt e/w LAFFAN 3.00 chester 10/1 bet365

this race will be won & lost at the gates & as long as he gets out on terms all the pace is on his outside so he should have the run of the race & on his third start for the easterby camp they should know where they are with him now & hes slipped to a workable mark.

Evening sportsfans!! won't be sorry to see the back of today to be honest, crap springs to mind & thats being conservative. hopefully tomorrow brings a return to form..

2pts e/w RED CAPE 4.10 catterick (nap) 17/2 bet victor

tomorrows tactics for our selections are very simple, get out, grab the rail & run for your life!! this race will be won & lost at the gates & quite literally he who leads, wins! this fellas like a rocket from the stalls & as long as he breaks on terms from the one box & holds his position they won't get past him.

1pt e/w TONGALOOMA 5.15 catterick (nb) 10/1 bet365

same tactics here & hopefully the same result! get on that rail & go.. sounds simple really doesn't it!!lol

0.5pt e/w double

26/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! another decent day seen us find 16/1 winner osteopathic remedy & also emiratesdotcom grabbed a place to see us with a nice 16pt gain on the day to advised bets & put us on +36pts for the month to advised bets & the 50pt profit for the month is now in our sights!! hopefully we can keep the mini revival going til the end of the month..

2pts e/w THE OSTEOPATH 4.45 ripon (nap) 6/1 bet365

the last twice hes been dropped into C5 company hes obliged & i see no reason for that to change here. he ran a fine race last time in better company & the handicappers left him alone. with the likes of jonny lesters hair & daddy warbucks in the field he should get the strong pace he needs to run at.

1pt e/w BARREN BROOK 4.15 ripon (nb) 8/1 ladbrokes

i have a feeling this race is going to be a very tactical affair but i cant help that feel st moritz & san cassiano will cut each others throats on the front end as both like to lead & they could well set it up for this fella. hes been unlucky in the fact that when hes dropped to a winning mark he seems to bump into one, he was second here over C&D off a higher mark behind voodoo prince (subsequently placed in the november handicap off a 10lb higher mark) last summer then when the handicapper relented this season he then bumped into the rapidly improving omeara beast chancery (followed up in a C2 off a mark of 91 on saturday) and he could easily pick up the pieces if they set suicidal fractions on the front end.

1pt e/w GENEROUS DREAM 5.15 ripon 7/1 bet victor

last years winner returns on a pound higher mark & now hes stepped back up in trip he can return to winning ways.

25/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not a bad day today finding tetbury @ a tasty 9/1 & bantam getting a place advised last night @ 9/1 also giving us a tidy little profit on the day to our advised bets although we only sit on a profit of 20pts for the month to our advised stakes but every little bit helps. here are tomorrows selections & also this weeks #stealingaliving top 10 update!! :0

1pt e/w PIVOTAL PROSPECT 4.35 newcastle (nap) 25/1 bet365

has dropped 3lb below her last C&D win, robert winston is back in the plate (1/1 on her) but more importantly she goes back against her own sex tomorrow & thats the key. her form in fillies only races reads.. 1-2-4-3-1-5 and she looks cracking value here.

1pt e/w FAIR VALUE 3.05 epsom (nb) 7/1 bet365

has a win & two places from her three runs here & off a mark shes been competitive off looks a solid e/w bet.

1pt e/w OSTEOPATHIC REMEDY 4.10 ripon 16/1 bet victor

has slipped below his last winning mark & will love the underfoot conditions here.

1pt e/w EMIRATESDOTCOM 5.00 chepstow 14/1 bet365

a repeat of either of his C&D places back in june would be more than good enough to take this as this is a weaker race than both of those & he goes here on a pound lower mark.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

now what i'm sure you've all been waiting for & its this weeks #stealingaliving top 10!!!

10. jamie spencer (allegedly a jockey)
franks over payed retainer for qatar racing is pretty much gonna make him a regular fixture on the leaderboard!

9. emma spencer (franks ex)
just watch channel 4 racing.. enough said..

8. simon crisford (who knows..)
shamelessly plugging darley stallion dubawi on channel 4 racing this week i think the sheikh must be paying him extra commission! didn't hear any mention of him being a super a/w sire though...but then again that wouldn't sell it to breeders now would it!?!?

7. rishi persad (channel 4 racing pundit)
called a filly a horse..amongst god knows how many other journalism misdemeanours this week..

6. frankie dettori (former good jockey)
this pains me to put frankie on here after he rode my biggest ever winning bet when winning on dubai millenium at royal ascot years ago but now hes signed on the dotted line with prince whatever his name is & is now getting beat on things that back in the day would of been his bread & butter.

5. derek thompson (fool)
tommo releases his life story on september 13th titled "to busy to die".. do me favour i've seen busier statues..

4. shane warne (aussie prick)
tweeted kevin peterson was being negative in his batting... then had to watch as KP went nuts at the crease & destroyed the aussie attack!!!

3. millwalls kit man (not sure of his name)
FORGOT THE KIT!!  surely that must be rule number one in his job & millwall had to play in the oppositions away kit for the entire first half..different class!!lol

2. paul bittar (head of the BHA)
turns out bittar has a 54 day holiday booked.. due on the hearing of martin dwyers appeal against his ridiculous ban by the indians...you're the CHIEF bittar...so stand up to the indians man!!

1. richard aldous (redcar clerk of the course)
made the bizarre decision to water his track...then watched over 30mm of rain fall overnight which was actually forecast!! for christ sake read the weather reports man..ITS YOU JOB..and for that reason richard.. you are quite literally.. STEALING A LIVING my friend!!!

many thanks for following & if you like what i've written why not give me a R/T!! ;-)

24/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! the nap ran well on what turned out to be unsuitable ground landing some place money & with two of our selections withdrawn today has been a bit of a non event & we just about broke even on our advised bets for the day. i'll be short & sweet tonight but remember the #stealingaliving league is back tomorrow & there are some new faces in line for there debuts!!

here are tomorrows selections..

1pt e/w ROUGH ROCK 2.30 yarmouth (nap) 9/1 bet365

1pt e/w LIBRANNO 4.30 goodwood (nb) 17/2 bet victor

1pt e/w BANTAM 5.00 goodwood 9/1 betfred

Friday 23 August 2013

23/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! a complete write off today after the overnight deluge put paid to our selections although the nap did run well in defeat on unsuitable ground. hopefully tomorrow brings a change in fortune..

2pts e/w TRADE SORM 3.30 goodwood (nap) 11/2 bet victor

this is a steep drop in grade after contesting Group 1's on three of his last four outings but his form behind the likes of declaration of war & aljamaaheer is head & shoulders above anything else thats on offer here. afsares G2 second was a weak race (the winner sri putra has only beaten nine horses home in five runs since being beaten a total of 68l in the process). he had gregorian behind him last time out who has since come out & won a G2 giving the form a rock solid look & as long as theres not a ridiculous amount of overnight rain (current going stick reading is 7.5 which is fine) and there is none forecast in the area then he should take all the beating.

1pt e/w WEBBOW 2.55 goodwood (nb) 33/1 coral

runner up in 2011 & a very creditable fifth last year when beaten less than a length but both off marks of 95. hes now slipped 5lb lower & his course record is very consistent.. 4-3-1-2-5 & he looks cracking e/w value to me here.

1pt e/w BOMBER THORN 2.40 york 16/1 bet365

brown panthers half brother is stepped up in trip for his handicap debut & if the rest of his family are anything to go by he will also relish the underfoot conditions. he has raced lazily on occasions & the first time visor could also see improvement & quite simply hes learning all the time & if everything clicks tomorrow he could quite easily get involved if as i imagine this turns into a war of attrition.

1pt e/w TROPICAL BEAT 3.50 york 11/1 paddy power

just have a look at this lads form, he did nothing out of the ordinary until they stepped him up in trip & hes done nothing but improve since. he was beaten less than a length when trying to give subsequent leger winner Encke 12lb which in hindsight was an impossible task then his third behind Kirthill was a none to shabby effort either. he ran a blinder on his return when trying to give party line 13lb & with the omeara stable on fire at the minute he looks a stayer to have on your side at the minute.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

many thanks for following & best of luck..

Thursday 22 August 2013

22/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! no blog today quite simply i didn't fancy anything strongly enough to be honest. a decent day on our last blogging day though when telescope as predicted galloped his rivals into submission but @ 6/4 you where never going to get rich but i suppose those that backed it where happier than it losing!lol we also landed the win & place lay on al kazeem & only trading leather getting beat done us out of a full house but a very profitable day none the less.

1pt e/w DANADANA 3.05 york (nap) 7/1 skybet

has valid excuses for his last two flops when failing to stay last time out after floundering in the soft ground at sandown. over distances between 8-10f hes unbeaten when firm has been in the going title & i think thats the key for him & the ground tomorrow will be right up his street. he brings decent G3 form to the table & the opposition tomorrow throw up far more questions than answers.

1pt e/w SWISS SPIRIT (nb) 8/1 stan james

with alot of these sprints if you ran them ten times you would get a different result each time but this fellas in decent form & was arguably unlucky last time out at goodwood when rolling down the cambers he looked drunk & disorderly in the final furlong & he did well to place to be honest. another one that ground is key & i think these are his optimum conditions tomorrow.

0.5pt e/w TEPMOKEA 1.55 york 22/1 coral

the step back up in trip will suit him tomorrow & a repeat of his second in the old newton cup will be good enough to take this.

0.5pt e/w ASKAR TAU 2.30 york 28/1 bet victor

yet another who needs it like a road & he hasn't actually raced on going with firm in the description since his last win. granted that was a while ago but these quirky older horses sometimes just need things to drop for them & it could well happen for him tomorrow.

20/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! tomorrow sees the start of yorks ebor meeting & here are my thoughts on day one..

tomorrows advised bets..

1pt e/w ZERO MONEY 1.55 york (nap) 16/1

1pt e/w TRADING LEATHER 3.40 york (nb) 6/1 bet365

1pt e/w HOMERIC 4.20 york 7/1 bet365

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

3.05 york Great voltigeur Stakes (Group 2)

i'm sure regular followers will be fully anticipating me advising the lay on the highclere hype horse telescope... and at current odds hes plenty short enough in the market but when you contemplate laying something you must surely have something that beats it.. and thats where i have my problem. whilst this is a G2 its a weaker race in my opinion than the G3 he contested last time & i actually think he wins by default to be honest. firstly the step up in trip has to suit him better as hes out of a darshaan mare with a very strong stamina influence in the 2nd & 3rd dams. i went to watch his re-appearance at my local track leicester & whilst it was little more than an exercise gallop he looked a million dollars in the paddock that day & this is probably the weakest G2 you'll find for many a mile & that run last time out quite simply is the best form on offer here. cap o'rushes was so highly thought of by godolphin he started out as a pacemaker in the irish derby & holds the other godolphin runner secret number on there goodwood running but to be honest i backed secret number that day & he just looked like a horse that would find trouble in running in a walkover. foundry won his maiden well but nothing has come out of the race of any note & i'm not sure wether he might have had the odd setback making a belated re-appearance. willie the whipper looks like he needs soft ground & spillway i'll be surprised if hes upto this although he wasn't far behind cap o' rushes at goodwood which leaves us with nicholls canyon who again doesn't look upto this level. i certainly couldn't contemplate backing telescope at the forecast odds but if thats what floats your boat fill your boots...although i'll be happy to sit this one out & take a watching brief.

3.40 york Juddmonte International Stakes (Group 1)

who can forget frankels victory in this last year..imperious.. stepped up in trip & into unknown territory.. and yet they couldn't even get him off the bride.. such memories are treasured by all racing fans i'm sure & tomorrows renewal looks an absolute cracker to be honest and we're taking the favourite on here!! firstly the stats & trends are all against him but i don't tend to read to much into them, i'm more interested in his form in the book. so what do we know about his form this year.. we know hes a better horse than camelot.. but thats no great achievement.. and we know he can beat mukhadram.. a horse who started the season rated 101 by beating another poor excuse for a racehorse from last years woeful batch of 3yo's in main sequence. now since then hes twice finished in behind al kazeem yet been raised to a rating of 125? so according to the BHA hes improved nearly two stone by being beat by the same horse..and the same has to apply to al kazeem how is he a stone better horse by proving he can beat the same animal?? the one benchmark we do have is the o'brien runner declaration of war, who has finished behind both toronado & al kazeem this year & to be honest he ran a cracker at deauville last sunday but i think hes a miler at the top level as i think this trip just stretches him in this company. he got within 2l of al kazeem whilst toronado slammed him 3l when winning the recent duel on the downs at glorious goodwood so as you can see theres nothing between them on the book but the interesting one has to be jim bolgers trading leather at the bottom. hes done nothing but improve since stepped up in trip & is yet to finish out of the first two over 1m2f+. hes also the only one of the field to have course form as he ran very well when runner up in the dante over C&D. jim bolger isn't one for tilting at windmills & he'll know exactly where he is form wise through dawn approach's runs against toronado so the fact hes even crossing the sea has to be a big plus but my niggling doubt is that toronado could well still be a horse on the improve & the step up in trip will do nothing but improve him in my opinion being by high chaparral so i think my play on the race will be to lay al kazeem win & place with a small play on trading leather. basically if al kazeem is beat, i'll collect..the question is... how much!!??!!??

18/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! no blog for todays racing as to be honest i didn't think it merited one as the racing was very poor today but our last nap was a tasty 11/2 winner on saturday in the form of glen moss which puts us on a respectable +25pts to our advised bets this month. with the ebor meeting coming up next week at york which is a favourite of mine we will be doing a daily preview of all the big races online the night before kicking off on tuesday evening.

1pt e/w ITS A MANS WORLD 3.30 thirsk (nap) 14/1 paddy power

last years winner comes here just a pound above his last winning mark & looks cracking value to me. the ease in the ground will be right up his street & with four wins from seven starts at the course
he clearly loves it here.

just the one selection so far for tomorrow on what looks a bit of a tricky day if i'm honest. i haven't gone into depth on the wolverhampton card as yet though & i'm hoping there maybe a few diamonds in the rough there.

onto what i'm sure your all reading for & its this weeks #stealingaliving top 10!!

10. jamie spencer (former shagpiece of emma spencer)
franks calamaties are mounting up & a well deserved new entry was required i felt.

9. emma spencer (former shagpiece of frank)
to be honest i just thought the pair of them would look good side by side..however it seems there stay in the top 10 has lasted longer than there marriage so maybe not such a good idea!!lol

8. jon walters (stoke city penalty taker)
missed three out the last five going all the same way... cant score from 12yds... shocking..

7. wayne rooney (moon on a stick)
looked off the pace for england & united this week & his touch was awful..has he lost interest? sort it out moon cos whilst your stealing your wage packet with performances like that the only way is up the league my son..

6. adrian chiles (itv footballs anchor man)
punching way above his weight both in the studio & dating catherine tate.. how??

5. rishi persad (fool)
the clues in the description..

4. harry herbert (highclere hype mongerer)
maintains telescopes defeat was "an excellent run"... do me a favour sherbet & whip his nuts off & aim him at the triumph hurdle!lol

3. hope powell (womens footballs national disgrace)
we know your still stealing your wage packet hope.. theres no hiding place..

2. arsene wenger (arsenal manager)
oh dear arsene.. you have nothing more to offer the premier league or the gunners.. go gracefully...

1. rob hawthorne (sky sports commentator)
described the legend that is michael laudrup as being "a half decent player in his day".. probably the best footballer to come out of scandanavia who graced the world & european stage with his mere presence.. a man who could sell a body swerve better than dell boy could sell hookie gear..and for that reason rob.. you are quite literally.. STEALING A LIVING my friend!!!!!!

many thanks for following & i hope you found my blog enjoyable.

16/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! considering we didn't find a winner a very good day was had by followers with our advised bets seeing double figure gains following the nap placing @ 14/1 to go with places @ 14/1 (advised) & 16/1 (s.p.) now we've got our noses firmly in front for the month hopefully we can press on..

2pt e/w GLEN MOSS 3.50 newbury (nap) 11/2 skybet

looked quite a progressive animal when winning a doncaster handicap in june & was by no means disgraced when fourth last time at royal ascot & the drop back into C3 company can do the trick & get him back on track. his royal ascot form is the best on offer here in what was a very hot race.

1pt e/w MEDICI TIME 2.20 newmarket (nb) 8/1 william hill

last years winner comes here on a 3lb lower mark & newmarket seems to bring the best out in this dual course winner.

1pt e/w THUNDERBALL 3.30 ripon 50/1 bet365

either i've missed something or this fellas massive value here. hes a C&D winner who drops to his last winning mark where he beat spinatrix a length. he gave spinatrix 6lb that day.. and tomorrow he recieves 4lb!! yet the dods runner is as short as single figure prices?

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

3.15 newbury (Hungerford Stakes G2)

the fascinating horse here has to be soft falling rain, unbeaten in his native south africa then carrying all before him at meydan during the carnival. he gets a BHA rating of 115 & thats on the back of beating snowboarder 2l in the UAE 2000 guineas, a feat that has also been achieved by tawhid this term when he beat the same rival by the same distance at goodwood recently so why there so wide apart in the betting i'm not so sure & i can't help but feel he's been priced up on what he could achieve as to to rather than what hes actually done thus far but all his meydan runs where on an artificial surface so the question has to be wether he can re-produce it on turf, in fact he hasn't got to re-produce it hes got to actually produce a career best to take this...after a 140 day break it will take some training performance from the De Kock camp to get him here on his A-game & i just cant see it.. the only other line of form we have for him is his UAE guineas trial run when he beat a horse of saeed bin suroors whos claim to fame is winning a C3 handicap on the a/w off a mark of 83. certainly not the strongest form i'm sure you'll agree & with major doubts about the trip (looks far better over a mile to me) i have to take him on. i'll be laying win & place as i think both tawhid & gregorian both have stronger form than him & casper netscher is held by tawhid on a line through garswood & i cant help but feel that last years german 2000 guineas winner is a far better horse fresh so i'll be backing tawhid.

as regular readers will know the now legend that is thomas, an elderly gentlemen who went out of his way to buy me a pint after winning enough to go on his first holiday in over 10 years through following the blog has now returned & put even more faith back in humanity by bringing me a present back! i mentioned in an email that i had a sweet tooth so the legend has bought me two sticks of seaside rock which arrived in the post this morning..an absolute gent of a man.

15/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! another slight loss on the day to our advised bets but very minimal to be honest & hopefully tomorrow can see us back to winning ways...

2pts e/w KING OF EDEN 2.40 newcastle (nap) 14/1 bet365

the drop back into C4 grade can work the oracle for this lad. his last win came in first time blinkers & after a couple of runs without them this shrewd yard re-apply them tomorrow & he should have enough early toe to tack over onto the favoured rail & follow the golden highway home again.

1pt e/w HOPPYS FLYER 8.15 catterick (nb) 10/1 bet365

has had a few runs for the brisbourne camp now & they should know where they are with him now. hes now slipped a pound below his last C&D win and the booking of his previous regular jockey mick fenton catches the eye for what is another very shrewd yard.

0.5pt e/w COMMANCHE RAIDER 7.45 catterick 14/1 bet365

another whos fallen to an attractive mark & this will be the weakest race he'll have contested throughout his career & the return to decent ground will also do him the world of good.

0.5pt e/w ALICES DANCER 8.05 newmarket 12/1 bet365

last years winner gets a 17lb pull in the weights on recent running with malekat jamal & has to be the value play here returning on a pound lower mark than last years win.

Evening sportsfans!! another cracking day with the NB going in at a tasty 10/1 but i have to be honest & it was a bitter sweet day as i really did fancy the nap but she proved very disappointing if i'm brutally honest although the winner did look a decent tool to be fair. it does however catapult us into profit on our advised bets for the month so i wont be complaining. i've gone for an ambitious lucky 15 tomorrow to see if we can land a tasty return..

1pt e/w NIGHT TRADE 4.10 ffos las (nap) 33/1 ladbrokes

this looks an absolutly cracking bet to me as shes dropped to her last winning mark & is also a C&D winner. the return to the saddle of eddie linehan is also a massive plus as he gets on particularly well with her & this race is no better than the race she won off this mark back in may to be honest.

1pt e/w MERCERS ROW 3.45 beverley (nb) 12/1 ladbrokes

gets a 13lb pull in the weights with bondi beach boy on there running last time out & that can tip the balance in his favour here.
hes got a decent draw & the first time cheekpieces are also a big plus as he can be a bit free sometimes & young gemma tutty gets on well with him.

1pt e/w IVORS PRINCESS 5.00 salisbury 10/1 paddy power

dual C&d winner who has also fallen to a workable mark but when she was tried in first time blinkers last season she improved no end & they've been left off on her last few runs but tomorrow they go for the first time cheekpieces & hopefully that can spark a resurgance in form at a course she clearly loves.

1pt e/w SEMEYYEL 3.55 salisbury 28/1 bet victor

probably infamous for her victory at 125/1 in a yarmouth listed event last term & whilst clive brittain has been guilty of tilting at windmills on more than one occasion in the past shes been campaigned in group races since where she hasn't really cut much ice but this race is no better than the one she won last term to be honest, in fact if anything the race she won was arguably better. this is also another filly who has her quirks & the race she won last year was when having blinkers re-applied.. again they've been left off lately & they also go for the first time cheekpieces & they could just give her the spark to reproduce something like that run & that would be more than good enough here.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

be nice if this lands guys!! :-)

many thanks for following..

12/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! winner winner chicken dinner today guys as the #teamchoochoo express got back on track with a lovely 4pt winning nap. hopefully we can now build on a solid foundation & surge forward for the month...

2pt win MONTJESS 6.35 nottingham (nap) 9/2 ladbrokes

the massive weight for age allowance over middle distances is giving the 3yo's such a huge advantage i really can't believe it to be honest & the form of her last run couldn't have been better advertised after argent knight went & hosed up on saturday off a mark of 81. being by montjeu she was always going to improve for the step up in trip & i think shes a really nice staying filly in the making. the one she has to beat is the other 3yo but on his handicap debut i dont think hes been done any favours kicking off on a mark of 90. on breeding the step up in trip isn't gauranteed to suit either being by dansili out of a galileo mare i would of said 10f to be honest but he has been running on over a mile & a half so you never know but the horse he beat in his maiden has come out & been beaten already so how much depth there is to the form im not so sure to be honest.

1pt e/w DIAMOND BLUE 2.45 carlisle (nb) 10/1 bet365

has now slipped 4lb below her last winning mark & this will be the weakest race shes contested during her career. a repeat of either of her placed efforts back in may would be more than good enough to take this & her second to secret advice off a 5lb higher mark than she goes off tomorrow now looks particularly good following that horse following up twice already & her form behind black annis bower now reads very well following that horses climb through the handicap recently.

0.5pt e/w double

many thanks for following..

Sunday 11 August 2013

11/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! we really do need to get this month kick started so its back to basics tomorrow & see if the 3yo weight allowance can kick us off.

4pt win MOUNT TIGER 4.45 wolves (nap) 4/1 bet365

he returns to the scene of his maiden win after falling away when stepped up in trip last time out which i have to say surprised me with him being by tiger hill but i think it could well of been a case of him pulling his chance away as he was far to free in the early stages & there was no early pace which left him pulling for his head. tomorrow will be a whole different ball game as there should be a breakneck gallop set by ocean tempest which should enable him to settle into a nice rhythm & charge them down in the straight. the 8lb weight for age allowance is as always a massive bonus.

onto this weeks #stealingaliving league & its all change at the top!

10. simon mapletoft (general greaseball)
if he gets any more tan on he'll be getting a transfer to TOWIE i think.

9. raheem stirling (liverpool footballer)
do as your told young man & you might actually get somewhere at what is the greatest football club in the land! ;-)

8. emma spencer (ex shagpiece of frank)
unfortunatly being dragged down by her association with #stealingaliving legend rishi persad.

7. jason weaver (ATR pundit)
still dont like him...

6. derek thompson (all round clown & general baffoon)
still hanging around in the top 10 following last weeks advice to an owner to have her filly gelded to improve its attitude!!lol

5. simon crisford (something to do with godolphin)
the last remaining stalwart from the boys in blue in this weeks top 10 following charlie applebys improvement in form & the fact that MAZ has seemingly dropped off the planet.

4. rishi persad (cocktail maker extraordanaire)
unfortunalty cocktail making isnt what hes paid for... although would make a far better waiter than t.v. presenter to be honest.

3. kingsbarns (one time derby favourite)
now forgive me if i'm wrong but how can you be pencilled in for a race, be pulled out, but still be fit enough for a racecourse gallop?? whats that all about? isnt that a bit like usain bolt waking up on the morning of a race & saying "you know what.. i cant be arsed going flat out today.. think i'll have a jog round the park instead!"

2. hope powell (god only knows)
absolute twat of a woman who has now become a national disgrace with her refusal to leave graciously.. the media might have left you alone for a while hope..but we've got you well in our sights still!!

1. harry herbert (highclere racing manager)
it had to happen folks!! old sherbet dip has gate crashed the top spot following telescopes efforts on saturday. he managed to beat noble mission by a whisker & run to a mark of around 100.. the only derby he'll be winning is on brighton beach harry... and for that reason.. you are quite literally.. STEALING A LIVING my friend!

any suggestions for next weeks table please tweet me with the hashtag #stealingaliving & will give all nominations careful consideration!! many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & please remember my blog is for information purposes only, any financial involvement you make you do so at your own risk.

many thanks for following & if you like what you've read hows about a R/T! :-)

10/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! i'm sure you've got better things to do on a saturday night than read my musings so i'll be short & sweet.

2pts e/w UNDERSTORY 4.40 windsor (nap) 7/1 paddy power

1pt e/w THE QUARTER JACK 5.10 windsor (nb) 8/1 bet 365

1pt e/w YOJIMBO 4.10 windsor 16/1 ladbrokes

e/w trixie (2pts in total)

over at deauville tomorrow i think we could well have the race of the season so far & you have to doff you're cap to jim bolger for bringing out dawn approach so soon after being beaten by toronado. i will however be laying our old foe again tomorrow as i think intello is an absolute beast of a horse who will destroy these & spit out the bits he doesn't want! very unlucky not to be unbeaten & i really do think he's the real deal to be honest. i see the hype horse telescope was turned over today & on the figures he needed only to run to around 100 to win this today & he couldn't even manage that so where they go next is a bit of a head scratcher really although i'm sure that harry #stealingaliving herbert will have some outragous plan that will never come to fruition..bit like his derby aspirations really!!!!

many thanks for following & have a good evening..

9/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! well we where well & truly de-railed today with the 5pt nap finishing absolutly stone last! in a way it made me feel better as if it had been beaten a length or so then there would of been no question but that clearly wasn't the horse that i seen win on its last appearance although i'm not offering any excuses & horses will make fools out of far better men than me i can assure you. onto tomorrow & hopefully we can get back on track...

2pts e/w LABARINTO 2.20 haydock (nap) 8/1 stan james

he has had a bit of a stop start career but when he gets it right hes a decent tool. on a line through viewpoint he has the beating of the johnston 3yo here & i think he could well be open to further progression. the firmer ground will suit him far better here & ryan moore is different gravy in the saddle in my opinion.

1pt e/w STONE OF FOLCA 2.05 ascot (nb) 14/1 skybet

has finally dropped below his last winning mark as the handicapper has been a bit reluctant to drop him in a rush but on his favoured fast ground he could just slip away from these early & if they give him a lead he has to be a big danger.

1pt e/w SAPTAPADI 1.30 ascot 14/1 william hill

i've been waiting for this fella to be stepped up in trip as all he does is gallop, but thats all he'll need to do here to win this & his only try over 2m was when 2nd in a Group 2 when in his days with sir michael stoute & i cant help but feel hes still got a touch of class about him.

1pt e/w SCATTER DICE 3.15 ascot 12/1 bet365

this is another who the handicapper hasn't been quick to drop but tomorrow will be her lowest mark of the season so far & this C&D winner has clocked up some decent placed efforts off higher marks during the summer.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

the interesting race from a spectators point of view has to be the highclere hype horse telescope who goes in a G3 at haydock. in all fairness i was on course when he made his re-appearance at my local track leicester & whilst it was little more than a racecourse gallop he did look a million dollars in the paddock but he does strike me as a long striding galloping type & i really thought he'd of been stepped up in trip if i'm honest. wether to lay is a tough call as its probably one of the weakest G3's you'll see this summer & if city style can bring his form from dubai to the table we could have a race but i'm not convinced meydan form travels well & his performances in this country are yet to match his performances abroad so i think i'll be keeping my powder dry & see if old harry herbert can talk his way back into the #stealingaliving league top 10!! many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & as always i wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting guys!!

p.s. its cornered viper time!! ;-)

8/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!!  not the greatest racing today so i didn't do a blog but its 5pt NAP time tomorrow guys!! strap yourselves in tight cos the #teamchoochoo express will be coming past paysville station at around 4.10pm tomorrow!! :-)

5pt win LIONHEART 4.10 brighton (nap) 5/2 paddy power

unbeaten at the track & trip, rattling fast ground & this boys ready to roll again & with the cumani stable operating at a 19.67 s/r for the season everything looks set here. i'm convinced he doesn't stay 7f but when you look further down his form his second to intrigo now looks top drawer form after the hannon horse took a doncaster handicap off a mark of 88 recently (lionheart races off 81 tomorrow).his two victories over really have been head in chest jobs firstly by 3l against his own age group & then he was eased close home when trouncing his elders by nearly 4l last time out. kirsty miczarek knows the horse well & has rode him to both his victories, hes bang in form & has a good draw & strength to his form, the weight for age allowance is there to be abused so fill ya boots! the last 5pt nap payed for the holiday... now lets get the spending money!! :-)

1pt e/w LAFFAN 3.30 musselburgh (nb) 10/1 bet365

a proper speedball who after moving to the easterby camp can start to repay the transfer fee. has a cracking draw to jump on the golden highway home & duran duran fentiman is just the man for the job.

1pt e/w AMIS REUNIS 4.20 lingfield 8/1 bet365

has fallen to just a pound above his last winning mark over C&D and can take what is a very weak race to be fair.

1pt e/w EL MASSIVO 5.20 lingfield 10/1 bet365

another 3yo that can have a laugh at the BHA's weight for age scale in what is another very poor race.

e/w yankee (3pts in total)

6/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! the nap landed @ a massive 16/1 s.p. to catapult us into profit for the month already & now we've got our noses in front hopefully we can press on now..

1pt e/w POLISH WORLD 3.10 newcastle (nap) 25/1 bet365

he drops into a C5 for the first time since his last win & thats his level to be honest. his lifetime record over 7f in C5 events on turf reads.. 1-1-4-1-3-1 and as hes now 7lb below his last winning mark he looks cracking value to me here.

1pt e/w COME ON DAVE 4.00 pontefract (nb) 11/1 bet365

this fella needs some give underfoot & i think theres rain forecast in the area so i'm taking a bit of a punt if i'm really honest but hes dropped to a workable mark & the other pace pushers are all drawn to the outside of him so if he can pop out & tack over onto the rail he can follow the golden highway home.

0.5pt e/w double

many thanks for following..

5/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! the nap a n/r today i'm afraid but we did manage to find a couple of decent placed efforts @ 16/1 & 10/1 so we managed a small profit to advised bets on the day.

here are tomorrows selections..

1pt e/w SOLAR SPIRIT 4.45 catterick (nap) 14/1 william hill

the drop back into C5 company can work the trick for this one for the first time since his last victory. hes slipped below his last winning & i think is far better over this shorter trip.

1pt e/w PISTE 3.15 catterick (nb) 14/1 bet365

last years winner comes back for another crack & is now only a pound above that mark. this really is a very poor race & won't take alot of winning & is certainly not as strong as last years line up so a repeat would be more than good enough here.

0.5pt e/w double

many thanks for following & i would like to say a special thankyou to those that take the effort to R/T my ramblings as they are very much appreciated.

Sunday 4 August 2013

4/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! not alot to report from saturday although the win & place lay on sky lantern gave me a profitable day but it seems the lays are saving my bacon at the minute if i'm honest and the current loss of 15pts to our advised stakes needs addressing a bit sharpish. hopefully tomorrow can see us surge into profit..

2pts e/w FOSSGATE 5.15 ripon (nap) 7/1 bet365

this certainly isn't a case of heart ruling the head for the old boy but he MUST have the forecast rain to get his head in front. his form figures over C&D when FIRM has NOT been in the going description reads.. 1-1-1-2-1-1-2-1 !! to say hes a course specialist is an understatement & now hes dropped 3lb below his last winning mark he can get his season back on track.

1pt e/w MISPLACED FORTUNE 3.45 ripon (nb) 10/1 ladbrokes

has now slipped below her last winning mark & has never been out of the first four in seven starts here at ripon. more importantly shes versatile regarding the ground as i think there could be some heavy overnight rain.

1pt e/w PRIME EXHIBIT 4.30 wolves 10/1 bet365

is actually very well handicapped on last terms a/w form & whilst theres a couple of 3yo's getting the allowance neither look straightforward to be honest & could well be worth taking on.

1pt e/w TATTING 6.05 wolves 10/1 bet365

another C&D winner whos slipped below his last winning mark & he had absolutly no luck in running on his last visit here. the booking of luke morris catches the eye & i think a strong jockey will suit him perfectly as graham lee was in the saddle on his win & place at the course.

e/w yankee (2pts in total)

now onto this weeks stealing a living league!!

10. MAZ (godolphin ghost)
still unsighted MAZ is in danger of falling off the planet never mind the top 10!

9. DEREK THOMPSON (just a fool in general)
already becoming a legend in the stealing a leaving league with his completly useless commentaries.

8. JASON WEAVER (ATR pundit)
someone did tweet me to say he had tipped a 12/1 winner over the jumps...but i still dont like the bloke!

7. EMMA SPENCER (C4 racing pundit-ess)
poor emma needs to stay away from rishi persad as hes sucking her further up the league!! :-/

6. HOPE POWELL (embarressment)
shocking woman who still refuses to budge despite the worst run of results in the womens games history.

5. CHARLIE APPLEBY (godolphin puppet)
mr magoo drops a few places after having a few winners but we're watching you closely chaz!!!

4. SIMON CRISFORD (complete knob)
if anyone cares to take a guess at his job title feel free to tweet me!

3. ALL PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALLERS (in general)
get an extra two weeks off whilst the boys in the championship have been running round in 90 degrees to pay the bills!!

2. GRAHAM CUNNINGHAM (C4 racing pundit)
had the audacity to sit next to the legend that is jim mcgrath with not even a scrap of paper in front of him. hadn't made a single note on the racing he was previewing. sort it now graham... or the top spot beckons!!

1. RISHI PERSAD (cocktail maker)
the boy persads performance this week was simply outstanding..if he wasn't stuffing his face at the front of some food queue he was wasting his time making cocktails... and for that reason rishi.. you are quite literally.. STEALING A LIVING my friend!

many thanks for following & anybody who you think needs to be in contention for wednesdays midweek update please tweet me with the hashtag #stealingaliving & we'll have a look although now the football seasons starting to kick in i think we may have to go to a top 20!!lol

2/8/2013

Morning sportsfans!! please accept my apologies for the delay in the blog being published but i have been awaiting news of any overnight rain..

1pt e/w HAWKEYETHENOO 3.50 (nap) 18/1 stan james

last years winner is the class act in the field & with a cracking draw & a bit of overnight rain he should be bang there today.

1pt e/w HOT SNAP 3.15 (nb) 9/1 william hill

middays half sister looked something really special in the nell gwynn & wether the race came to soon or the ground was to firm i dont honestly know what happened in the guineas but the run was to bad to be true & she deserves another chance.

1pt e/w ENROL 2.05 goodwood 9/1 william hill

i dont think she stayed at ascot so the return to 6f is just the job & she can continue with her progressive profile on only her eighth lifetime start.

0.5pt e/w trixie

many thanks for following..

Thursday 1 August 2013

1/8/2013

Evening sportsfans!! a slight improvement today with the nap netting us place money although we did end the day losing a couple of points to our advised bets but hopefully tomorrow can see us into profit..

2pts e/w SARDANAPALUS 4.05 thirsk (nap) 7/1 bet365

not only does he drop to his last winning mark which is always a bonus but the key for me is that his last victory was in first time cheekpieces. he has always performed his better races with some sort of headgear on but the shrewd yard left them off last time.. and now hes dropped to a winning mark, bang, they pop them on again! his runner up spot behind mont ras in may is head & shoulders above anything else on offer as thats turning out to be red hot form with the horse back in third that day summerinthecity running the in form tropics all the way to the line at york on saturday.

2pts e/w LOST IN THE MOMENT (nb) 6/1 bet365

with a couple of these coming back after lay offs the doors open for the white cap of godolphin to strike again. i've been waiting to see this evenings results so i could update the form but his last run is looking exceptional now after harris tweed absolutly blitzed a competitive handicap off a mark of 105 on tuesday by 6 lengths & he was well beaten by our lad then the horse that followed them home in fourth that day has gone & won this evening. if you go further down his form his second behind brown panther on what would of been unsuitable ground for him as i think hes better on a decent surface reads very well after that come out & won todays goodwood cup. aiken will want rain & lots of it i think & whilst masterstroke's third in the arc looks good on paper he was beaten nearly 8 lengths & camelot was only 4 lengths behind him so the form does have a suspect look about it for me.

1pt e/w WINDHOEK 3.05 goodwood 10/1 boylesports

three lengths behind trading leather in the dante.. three lengths behind remote in the tercentenary stakes.. would you back either of those to win this handicap carrying 9 stone 1lb getting an extra 7lb of there elders by three lengths?? you'd be mad not to but thats what this fellas form amounts to, plain & simple & i think that form will be more than good enough here especially with more improvement to come from him after only six lifetime starts.

0.5pt e/w trixie

many thanks for following..
