9/9/2012

morning gang...or should i say mourning?? cos thats what it feels like not having a winner for two days! as always i'm not one to bemoan bad luck & we'll take it on the chin & move on,pride dented, but onwards we march!! the two races that we played on yesterday turned out to be the two roughest races of the day & when you get trouble in running at ascot it's game over to be fair.
so onto today's selections..

today's BACK selections...

PENITENT 3.20 CURRAGH               *NON-RUNNER*

our first selection takes us across the sea to the curragh where david o'meras stable star looks a very good thing in waiting.three runs back he absolutly trounced today's favourite, famous name, nearly 10L at sandown park in the bet365 mile & then went onto run a blinder in a french G1 behind golden lilac & cirrus d'es aigles to name a few before returning to leopardstown after a short break finishing a very creditable fifth in a G3 which was an excellent run as the race conditions meant he had to give lumps off weight away all round.i know the ground was heavy at sandown but i think the main reason for slamming famous name is that dermot welds stalwart really doesn't travel well & is yet to win outside his native ireland.however, looking at his runs since sandown i am quite confident he can confirm the form with famous name & at a decent price represents monumental e/w value.
5pts. e/w @ 8/1

SHAMDARLEY 3.30 YORK

now this really does look like its been sent from the gods today!!
comes here on a pound lower mark than when scoring at the end of last season here at york.LTO at wolverhampton he got stuck out wide & had no run whatsoever & prior to that he has been running creditably this season off marks in the 80's in better races than he runs in today.he'll relish the ground & does likes it here.this is his level & can go in at a nice price.
3pts. e/w @ 16/1

2pt. e/w double

well thats 20 pts. staked so lets see if we can get the ball rolling today & surge into profit!! as always many thanks for taking the time to read my blog & sharing my thoughts on the days racing & good luck with whatever you decide today.

regards
ian
