19/10/2012

Evening sportsfans!! well to be honest i'll be more than happy to see the back of this week, been absolutly atrotious on the betting front to be fair & we're in desperate need of a winner....cue: BRITISH CHAMPIONS DAY! :-) and it really is deserving of the name in my opinion headed by horse racing's answer to lionel messi... FRANKEL!! takes centre stage at ascot & i'll be concentrating on that further along in the blog but we'll start with the nap which goes at catterick & here are my thought's...

PONTY ACCLAIM 2.50 CATTERICK (NAP)

tim easterby's filly finally get's into handicap company again & can take advantage of a workable mark.she ran a blinder lto behind a 104 & 105 rated pair of animal's & that put's her bang there tomorrow.more importantly she showed she handles plenty of cut which is imperitive to the cause & she get's the plum draw in the one box as well.she's actually only had the one run in handicap company in her entire career & was by no means disgraced finishing 2l behind tax free off a 5lb higher mark than she race's off tomorrow & all thing's considered is a confident nap tomorrow.
1.5pts E/W @ 13/2 (william hill)

SIDE GLANCE 3.30 ASCOT (NB)

so onto the main event & ascot's champion's day and i think Ian balding's game old warrior can gain ample reward for a consistent campaign here at his beloved ascot.he has ran some absolute blinder's in defeat this season behind the like's of sri putra, dubai prince & the mighty frankel.his third in the queen anne stakes is the race im going to concentrate on though as although he finished a neck behind tomorrow's likely favourite excelebration it was the softest ground he'd raced on this year & i think the softer the better for him & at the forecast prices is some serious value to turn the fav over tomorrow in my opinion.
1pt E/W @ 25/1 (widely available)

the three other thing's that i fancy tomorrow at the champion's day fixture are...

OPINION POLL 1.45
i think saeed bin suroor's stable are starting to fire again & this grand campaigner can stamp his class on this.

GREAT HEAVENS 2.55
John gosden's filly ran a cracker in the arc last weekend & will certainly benefit from underfoot conditions & make her presence felt in this female cracker of a contest.

MAAREK 2.20
very consistent irish sprinter who can make the step up in grade
on the forecast going.

well that just about conclude's my thought's on tomorrow's racing & i think we all hope that we'll be toasting a glittering end to the racing career of frankel tomorrow evening...or will we?? i'll leave that little teaser of a question for you to work out for yourselves!! our bank sit's on an overnight balance of +30pts after deducting tomorrow's stake's but as alway's good luck with whatever you decide for your money tomorrow & happy punting!! :-)

regard's
ian
